@@DiegoFooter I have watched the videos of the man that is referenced to in this video but he talks over my head and uses the acronyms so quickly - like I know what they mean. Also, I got the gest he uses the mixtures on a huge-huge scale. I am sure he is very knowledgable but I just can't absorb his information. You and Steven really simplified what LABS are, why to make them, how to make them and even use them in a backyard setting. with all that said, I saw all the acronyms on the other bottles - what are they? - that is the stuff I need. Simple poignant teaching videos about the other "ABC's: of Korean garden mixtures. 100%, hands down - you taught me something with this video. Thank you, sincerely! PS: I make homemade yogurt weekly and now I know what to do with the extra whey when I have it :) I have asked the local brewery for spent hops but they never replied to me but I collect coffee grounds every night from a local shop - got a ton of it...any ideas other than just mixing it in everything common like compost, dirt, yard. Can they make anything "ABC'ish"? ~You are great, thanks again!

@DiegoFooter
@DiegoFooter 3 жыл бұрын
I would be careful on that statement. It would be true IF you can a compost pile made out of the right materials. Molasses is a bacteria food. So really you would just be giving the bacteria in the pile an easier to consume food source than the contents in the pile. LAB won't break down recalcitrant carbons, so it won't help much in the pile. You would need a pile of very immature carbon for this to much, if any affect.

We live a whole food plant based lifestyle and want our land to reflect that. Nah man, desert lands are almost sterile. you need to build soil first ( plant shit tons of weeds and bushes for 5-10 years ) then you maybe have decent soil. In fact. desert areas require group efforts to regreen. most people are hooked on degenerative monoculture so this will probably not happen, you are on your own at this moment. good luck

You might investigate "terra preta". The dark soil produced by farmers long ago in the Amazon jungle. Similar soil type there with lots of rain fall and mineral leaching. They found a way around those problems.

Better add a fuckton of carbon to retain water. Charcoal, wood chip mulch, get some clay into the mix
@bobbywhite5319
@bobbywhite5319 3 жыл бұрын
@@alexriddles492 The Amazon is predominantly clay, not sand. The key role of biochar in that cultivated dark soil is to retain nutrients like a sponge, which helps deal with the constant leaching Tropical rainforests have very little biomass in the soil because the warm temperatures, rainfall, high plant activity, and high decomposition rate cause any soil nutrients to be immediately absorbed by plant life. Between plants, there is immense competition for these resources. The problem with deserts is that they're just purely undeveloped. After the rock eroded, the sand particles didn't get any finer, unlike the clay, which is the finest soil particle classification.

I would think we could do even better with organic milk as the big milk tanks are washed out with chlorine and I’m sure that puts the brakes on our microbes a little bit.

Absolutly yes, KNF is legit I use it almost every day for years now, my veggies and cannabis are better than anything you can find at even the highest end grocery stores and top shelf dispensaries. This method is godly. Try it I dare you, you will never look back.

www.ars.usda.gov/research/publications/publication/?seqNo115=312138 "Another inoculant tested was “Indigenous Micro-organisms” (IMO), integral to the Korean Natural Farming technique. This inoculum is made by incubating a mixture containing horse manure. Experiments showed that plant response to this inoculum was due to the nutrient carry-over rather than the micro-organisms. These results demonstrate the need for careful studies to ensure farmers receive reliable tools for the sustainable production of healthy food."

Kefir is similar to yogurt, but has more strains of bacteria. When you make kefir from milk, there's a lot of whey on top. I think Dennis is asking about draining the whey from kefir and using it for the same purpose. I was wondering the same thing.

The rice wash is a simple sugar for the bacteria to feed on. You aren’t just separating milk into parts.

OK Late comment. You can compost the dead animals, like you plant a fish under a tomato plant. Self Sufficient Me, had an episode on burying a deer, a dead chicken etc. after time only parts of the skeleton remained, the rest integrated into the soil. The produce from the decomposed animal product was much healthier. So you said chicken feathers useless, you may want to rethink that.

He didn't say it was useless. He just said it's more beneficial when there are myriads of bacteria to break them down. Just like how the dead animals disintegrate.
