I really liked your idea. But what about medals getting tarnished?

Thank you, haven't had any problems with tarnishing

How long is each wooden dowel after cutting? 2 inches or 3?

A little explanation of the steps would be nice for this video.

Thanks for the video. What did you use to end up hanging it flush on the wall?
@howtofixitworkshop5 жыл бұрын
No problem! We just used a few 2 inch screws held into the drywall with drywall anchors
@TheShaggyfrog5 жыл бұрын
@@howtofixitworkshop did you notch into the back of the shelf and hang on the screws or drill through the whole shelf? Thanks for replying!
@howtofixitworkshop5 жыл бұрын
I drilled through the shelf itself. Just measured out the screws in a straight line. They end up being mostly hidden by the medals

Very cool. How far did you measure on your first cut for the two side pieces. It looks like five and a half inches but I cant tell.

I did something very similar a year ago and we have had a blast adding to it more medals 🏅 and bibs and nick nacks from races. Do u have a update video of this video??

How far apart did you measure the dowel rods?
@howtofixitworkshop4 жыл бұрын
I think about 2 inches

would love to try building this for my niece however i do have a couple questions. First of all great looking project, nice job! How did you use your pocket hole jig (how many holes, spaced apart, etc) and what kind of screws did you use to attach the boards together using the jig holes? Also when drilling the dowel holes, did you drill all the way through the back of the board or only part way? Thank you very much, take care.
@howtofixitworkshop2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! For the medal display we didn't use any pocket holes. All of the wood was attached with wood glue and brad nails. The holes for the dowels were drilled approximately a half inch deep and we used wood glue to hold them in place. Hope this helps!

@@howtofixitworkshop have made 2 since these comments. Thanks alot man! just bought a router was wondering if keyholes would work on the back instead of drilling through it. Have you tried?
@howtofixitworkshop2 жыл бұрын
That's a great idea! I haven't tried keyholes but I think that would work just as well!

Looks awesome watching 3rd time. I want to do same as like this.. Can you tell me the measurements? Length, height what s the gap you maintained?
@howtofixitworkshop4 жыл бұрын
I believe it is a 6 foot 1x6 inch pine board. The spacing between holes is 2 inches. Thanks for watching!!

How did you attach it to the wall? That part wasn't in the video.
@howtofixitworkshop4 жыл бұрын
Sorry about that. I simply screwed the medal rack to the studs in the wall, through the rack
