Simple DIY router plane made of scrap wood and a chisel

At last a video which actually shows how to make stuff out of scrap wood with simple tools (well apart from the table saw, but the wedge could easily be handsawn in about 30 seconds for anyone, like me, who doesn't have a table saw). I've been very frustrated with videos which say they are making "cheap" tools out of "scrap" and then they use a whole sheet of birch ply ro a couple of metres of oak, table saw, band saw, planer, thicknesser, drill press etc etc in a workshop that's as large as my house. Thanks for keeping it simple.

I was wondering why you chose 60 deg angle. The chisel bevel is 25 deg (or 30 deg if you did microbevel), so you should be OK with say 10 deg more to prevent the bevel from rubbing on the bottom rough surface you’re planing. Going to 60 deg means your chisel’s cutting edge is coming in at a pretty steep angle.
