It's great to see that you are continuing the tradition. My grandmother used to make these Tang Yuan just like you did, and she will stick one onto the wooden door of each room in their kampong house (this is in the 80s). Used to make them with my mum when we were young too, and we will press some of them to become abacus beads. For probably more than a decade I have been thinking of celebrating by re-starting this tradition, but never did... In 2025 then!

Hope you have a great Christmas. My mom used to make tang yuan just like what you did every Winter Solstice but in the end she stopped making as there's much effort involved plus the rest of my siblings aren't fans of the tang yuan. By the way I like your sailor blouse and Nugget is adorable 😍.
