Linux is fantastic, the only thing missing is compatibility. I'm sure many of us are fed up with microsoft's scummy tactics of getting money but its just not that simple as moving to a whole new operating system.

@@Em-Fa there are little differences between paid and free versions, free one is amazing and comes with a bunch of nice pre-configured layouts out of the box and it's nice on the eyes in comparison with Mint for example.

@@Em-Fa "Paid linux distro" dude doesnt know what hes yapping about. Zorin OS isn't paid, you can pay for pro which gives you designs that makes your DE similar to Mac OS or Windows 11. On the other hand Wubuntu is paid because you pay for powertoy which allows you to use WINE. PAYING FOR WINE. THIS PAID.

Better than kubuntu, Debian plus KDE. Thank me later. Or maybe after switching to Debian, annoyed by lots of little bugs in kubuntu

Linux is great, and its only disadvantage is compatibility issues, but then you just run wine and you’re fine! However, its also hard to install when i tried to install ubuntu on my Win11 laptop i accidentally f**ked it up Overall, linux is better, but windows and macos are great too!

Imma be honest, as an M series Mac owner, i think macbooks are some of the best laptops and macOS is amazing, but for desktop, im starting to prefer Linux and Windows. I cant make up my mind in regards to OSes, so ill just use all of them

Kubuntu is a mod of Ubuntu, featuring the KDE Plasma desktop instead of the standard GNOME desktop shipping with Ubuntu. Ubuntu also has all of the Canonical controversies and spyware and S N A P S. Just never use Ubuntu. My personal recommendations for newer Linux users! Zorin OS or Linux Mint - If you want a preconfigured desktop made to be "user friendly" with barely any personalization on install, pick these! Arch Linux - If you want a base system to build out your own system through the terminal, Arch can be a learning experience! Pick if you want to tweak every part of your system and are enthusiastic about Linux! Awesome documentation! Artix Linux - Arch without SystemD, pick if you want no SystemD. Ubuntu Linux - Want all the spyware and bloatware of Canonical and Snaps? You've got it! Ubuntu has a whole host of controversies, including but not limited to: - Bad software search - Firefox installed as a snap - C A N O N I C A L Alpine Linux - Extremely slim system, base is just around 100MBs, 44MB RAM usage! Pick if you want a minimalist system. You'll have to build it out like Arch though. Debian GNU/Linux - If you want a rock solid system that can last for years without shedding a drop of sweat, you've got it! Debian typically uses older packages, but they're SUPER stable! Pick if you want stability. Manjaro Linux - Do you want a buggier version of Arch with a desktop preinstalled? You've got Manjaro, the cancer of Linux. Manjaro is SUPER unstable and buggy! Pick if you need bugginess and instability EndeavourOS - Manjaro done right. No bugs, solid. Pick if you need Arch but don't want to go through the "hard" (easy) parts. That concludes my list of recommendations for newer Linux users! If you like any of the distributions, give them a try! psst... BSD.... My BSD recommendations! I've not gone through a lot of BSD Distributions, but here are just the few I know! FreeBSD - uhh just bsd, starts as a minimal system if you want and bsd NetBSD - BSD but it supports everything and runs good on 1980's VAX machines, Atari Amigas, and Wiis! OpenBSD - Secure, server oriented distribution of BSD. Recommended for routers, servers, and anything that just needs it.
