Thank you you legend, all the other sources said to farm the royal chamber, within 5 minutes I got the 2 simple gadgets I needed when I watched this video. I was farming for like 2 hours with no luck lol.

It seems that the scanner ones are 100% guarantee at the first time. Then they seem to disappear for good. Pick them up first before starting to farm the random chance locations.

Thanks for the video! It was great help with the scanner! I have found out later, that the side mission "Improving Communications" also gives you " Simple Gadget x 5" ... if only I did it sooner.

i'm just new to nier automata using nintendo switch and so far I'm loving it despite the open world being smaller than BOTW, find the game deeply moving and entertaining that I fell in love with it. I rated Legend of Zelda BOTW as top 1 but now they go along side by side as my top 1 favorite. Now my question is, how do you get your POD to search treasures like that especially ones you can't normally see just by going near it?

hey Ashley, it's a smaller open world by design so that you revisit areas more frequently and get to know the places better. The pod needs a certain skill equipped to be able to scan for things as seen in the video, in this case its a scanner (A170). I think by default it's the laser attack. If I remember correctly, you get the scanner from story mode at some point, can't pin point when exactly though

Hey Ashley, just to piggyback of the other comment you get the scanner when you meet Devola and Popola when your playing as 2B at this point of the story your looking for 9S after the events a boss in the flooded city
