Thank you so much! I’m about to make one of these for my elderly parents.

Very convoluted way to make an arc. Use 3 nails or screws. one in the center at your required degree and the other screws at the ends, 1/2 pvc conduit behind end screws , middle screw in front of middle screw.

That's a delight, and a most enjoyable vid. Thank you! I would never have thought of using the circular saw to cut a curve! One small thing; it would have been nice to get a better look at the finished item. Thanks again.

Definitely use the circular saw I also take a 10 foot piece of half-inch PVC and bend it to make my arch which is very easy

I did and hope you did as well.

What mark said, cutting the slight curve with the circular saw was different. The bridge looked good and solid.

A little more explanation while you were doing the arc would have been helpful, but… I’ll wing it 😅 Thanks.

the 3 kind of saws are very helpful, will try the circular saw. Thanks

Looking good man! Glad to see thing #1 used socks under those flip flops. I wouldn’t want to see him destroy this channel by giving it a less than aesthetic appeal. 🤪

Hi. Great video. While I understand the general idea of drawing the arc on the board using the other board as the center of a large imaginary circle, did you do a calculation to determine the radius of this circle, or get to it by trial and error? Thanks
@DIYMinded3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting. I used the trial and error method by making the arc and standing back and looking at it. When I was happy with it I marked the other two boards.

Had the same question, is there a measurement you look at first when figuring put your arc ?

How did you fasten the blocks to the middle arch?

very nice video, I found it very interesting . I am not a carpenter, I just know enough to be dangerous. With the blocking boards against your middle 2x12, do you fasten them to the middle 2x12 with toenail-like screws, at an angle?
@DIYMinded3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I staggered the braces so that I could screw straight through the 2x12.

I would like to make a similar bridge for my garden. Sorry if I missed it but what was the specific wood that you used. Something I can get from Home Depot?

Just curious what your material list was and cost? I'm going to build 2 for my creek

Thanks for watching. The main supports were made from 3-2x12x8' treated boards. The cross supports were made from 3-2x6x8' treated boards. For the top I used leftover deck boards from a previous project. My total cost was under $150 at the time of building.

Thanks for the video! Good to see that I can make it with tools I have. What's the name and artist for that second song? I really like it! 😀

Enjoyed the video but could do without the music as I had a hard time hearing your instructions.

I’ve watched other people use PVC pipe and it was a lot easier to make the curve this is so damn complicated

In another post, indicated that the wire was centered in the middle of another board. Then use wire to make an arc.Imagine a large circle.
