You would need at least one blackworm to start with. If you only have one or two, it would take quite a while to for them to multiply into a reasonable number. Unless you have at least one to start with, you cannot create blackworms.

Absolutely! You need a most annoying music h 24 so that the blackworms get really really upset and say "I'm gonna cut myself" and end up reproducing. And this is a golden treasure of insight. You're welcome.

He used catappa leaves. I have a similar setup. I feed mine high quality sinking wafers.

Any leaf litter will do, they grow like that everywhere around the World no matter what leaves. U can use spirulina powder or tablet like wafer for pleco for instance. Not to big offc gl

for how low temparature will they breed? Im looking to start af culture up in my basment without a heater But the temp is 16-17 celcius or 60-62 fahrenheit during the winter season Would that work?

Yes, it would. My cultures are outside and the temperature falls to below -4°C, and they survive. They will be fine at 16°C. Remember to aerate the water.
