I love this jumper, bought the pattern and now watching and rewatching this tutorial, whilst slowly knitting it. I actually knitted the collar and the first German short row so far. I used to knit a lot when I was a teenager in the 70s' and lost a bit of confidence in my ability as I grew older. Thank you for your brilliant instructions, they help me a lot to try and enjoy this great hobby again. Thank you Kika and please carry on doing these great patterns and tutorials - you are star. ⭐

I just finished this today! I used the yarn cascade 220 in a beautiful purple color. I also used a size US 5 needle for the collar and ribbing as I tend to knit more tightly and that’s how I got gauge. It came out perfectly!! The video tutorials are SO helpful! I just started the Darling Cardigan today as well. I feel so grateful for all the work you put into making great patterns and video tutorials . Thank you!!

Her sweater pattern is really pretty. I hope one day I understand sweaters the way she does to be able to fit them so well and make simple patterns. For now I will try this with a sport weight alpaca and some kid mohair held together, love the fluffy, cozy fireplace sweater vibe ❤

This couldn't be any more timely. I have another sweater (bottom up) that I am just getting to the point that has german short rows. I've been delaying finishing this because I am so confused by these. This was so helpful. Seeing it done in a project and not just a swatch was so helpful. Thank you so much for walking us through this.

Very nice pattern, love it. A tip for the Italian Bind off so that you don't have a gap at the end. Before you start bind off, place a removable stitch marker through the first 2 stitches on your left needle. The bind off starts here with 1 knit stitch and then a purl stitch, you do the bind off as usual until you have 2 stitches left on your right needle (a knit stitch and a purl stitch), now you insert the tapestry needle on the right the knit stitch on your right needle and purl through the knit stitch on your removable stitch marker and slip the stitch from your right needle and pull the working thread through. Now insert the tapestry needle purlwise through the purl stitch on your right needle and go in the back through the 2 stitches on your removable stitch marker and go right through the purl stitch of the removable stitch marker and slip the last stitch from your right needle and pull the working thread through while removing the removable stitch marker. Everything fits together nicely and you no longer have a gap. Sew in the working thread. Greetings Inge

Well, it certainly isn’t exactly the clearest explanation of German short rows, but one does learn the placement of the beginning and ending points of the short rows, I.e., the sleeve stitches are included in the short row sections, so, in my understanding at least one stitch past the raglan increase into the front. This is all really tricky. I will look to other videos for actually making those GSR stitches. I am also thinking I may want to shorten the depth of my armholes. All that said, it is an extremely charming presentation from which I learned several things. Especially about yarn choices & what I do with those fingering weight yarns that I purchases & then avoided due to how long it would take d take me to make a whole sweater out of them. So, thanks for a cheerful uplift on a dark winters day .😊

I have wanted to do a sweater and have waited for the right pattern. I have had the typical avoidance approach as do many. I not only love the way you teach but appreciate so much that you shared everything on the tutorial. It seems many pattern designers do not share the whole instruction in a tutorial out of fear that one will not purchase the pattern. I feel just the opposite. Because you did the detailed tutorial, I did purchase you pattern because I know that I have a place to go for step by step support. Keep up your wonderful approach and thank you for being there for us beginner sweater knitters.

I love, your designs! And I want to make this sweater. However, I was wondering why you so often choose to knit with two or even three yarns at once, instead of just a thicker yarn? If I make this sweater I think I will have to knit with two, as I cannot seem to get the yarn specified in the pattern. But a lot of us find knitting with two yarns at once challenging, so ai was wondering why you do it so often. Thanks for your lovely videos!

Good Morning....I am starting my first sweater with you and just purchased some alpaca DK, in a lovely dark teal, with a light teal, and some ochre to do some small stripes, or maybe some other type of color, polkadot maybe, across the bodice area. I would like to know how to make the neckline a little bigger and also to decrease around the waist, I am doing the regular length. I have never looked great in the BAGGY raglan. Is there anyone on here that is also doing this that is able to instruct me. I am doing the small and excited to cast on today or ASAP.
