Ohhhh I need to try this! It would make a great bathing suit coverup! Thank you for sharing!!!!

I’m with you. I have to buy another bathing suit. Mine from last year is too big. I loved it. It’s a full bathing suit dress with boy shorts bottoms and tummy control. I have lost 15 pounds since last summer so it’s way too big.

@@christinemeleg4535 I was having a difficult time losing weight until I did some research. Your liver has a lot to do with belly fat. Since I had chemo and radiation treatments my liver was a mess. It needed to be detoxed. I use milk thistle, dandelion root supplements plus dandelion tea. It takes time but it has worked. I still have 10 pounds I want to lose before the end of March. When it gets warm here in North West Tennessee I will start walking.

If you don't have a machine with a single needle throat plate, I think I've read that you can use a tear-away stabilizer or even a nice weight tissue paper under sheer fabric to keep it from sucking into the sewing machine. You just tear it off when done stitching.

YES . I have been doing this for years. I place 2 strips (one both sides). Takes a little time to strip off after, No big deal. Otherwise I feed the monster and loose lots of material…

I'm going to share this with my sisters. They like things like this. I'm too much of a "tomboy" to wear something like this. I'm more comfortable in T-shirts, jeans because I spend a lot of time outside working my gardens. and I seldom go out where I would probably wear something like this. Also, if you can find some Plantain Ointment you can use that on that cut on your finger. It doesn't take much but you will need to keep it covered while it does its work. Plantain heals from the "inside out" and rarely will a scar be left. I use it on my own cuts, burns, bruises. It works fast. Look at your local health food store. If you can't find it there, get online with your local gardening group and ask where you can get some. Someone on that group will probably have some they've made or know someone who has it.

Very clear tutorial. Thank you! Have you ever experimented with spray starch to stabilize the edges to make it easier to do the fold overs?

1)Do you wash the fabric first? 2)What if you are wider in the rear than the shoulders? Do you still cut the width to the shoulders? Alright!! I have some material that I want to make a wrap with. I think it’s polyester/rayon? It’s beautiful!! I don’t have a computer machine. The fabric I am going to use isn’t sheer just flowey.

Hi Shelly. Measure the widest part of your body and use that measurement. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing.

Yes you can prewash the fabric. Before washing/drying do a zigzag stitch on the 2 raw edges of the fabric so that is will not unravel. 😍

Love this! I have a Kenmore sewing machine about 15-20 yrs old. It works fine but did not come with a throat plate with only a single hole. Any suggestions? Or would it be best to use a Serger?
@TheSewingRoomChannel2 жыл бұрын
You can still make this but just be aware that the fabric might get stuck in the hole. Use a new needle because the point will be sharp. An old needle is dull at the point and also can cause problems. You can also use a serger. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍

Very nice--thanks! I've made a couple of kimonos in a very similar way. I chose to French seam the sides/under the arms--worked out well--and double-fold hemmed the rest. I even added pockets made from scraps to the inside bottom fronts on one. :D I made the second kimono from lightweight sweater knit (Walmart 2-yd/$4 deal!). I had some major aggravation with it being eaten by my machine, and long story short, used the tissue paper trick. But I'm glad for your instruction about a different throat plate. I'll have to look into getting one.

Hi there, what do you use for weighing the fabric down ?
