The excellent footage of the snail alluding to "the slow life" was wonderfully done. I like how you use slow shots and sub-titles with very simple words. Thank you for introducing to me Hari Hachi Bu - a name for a concept that I think is very healthy and I will use going forwards. Okinawa seems very good to live in because it seems "Where Nature Meets You Half-Way". This makes living so much more conducive to the good life. Do you have a Shiba Inu? Dog walking is one of my favourite activities. I always want to optimize the dog's experience. I am reading Walking in the Woods ~ Professor Yoshifumi Miyazaki, Ikigai and Ichigo Ichie. Having a name for concepts is very helpful. What I have learnt from life so far: To find strong ideas or concepts and THEN (v importantly) transform them into activities of living that I do in my daily life. The example of eating a healthy sustainable local diet for example or appreciating the beauty of nature but by taking photos or painting it for another example or learning about dogs more if one likes dog walking eg training, brain games and so on... it transforms the information into actual the substance of living.

Thank you very much for your kind comment and very nice insights. I sincerely appreciate it. We have dogs in the Philippines. I love dogs. However, as much as I would like to have one, it is very expensive to own a dog here in Japan 😞 Come visit Okinawa. Try the food and experience the beauty of the island. I wish you good health and happiness 🤗

I envy you. I am still in Tokyo with my wife who, coincidentally, is from Okinawa. When you mentioned beni imo it really got me. I can't find them here. Even though Okinawa is part of Japan, the mainland doesn't allow the shipping of beni imo from Okinawa to the mainland, at least not fresh ones. It's because there are insects in Okinawa that don't exist here, and Japan doesn't want to risk bringing them over.

Thank you very much for your kind comment. That’s interesting. I didn’t know that. Well, just enjoy beni imo when you visit here. And I hope to meet you and your wife in person. Wishing you happiness and good health. 🤗

Hello thanks for your video, May I ask if Okinawa accepts digital nomads and be permanent residents there? Thank you
@nijinomonogatari49810 ай бұрын
I honestly don’t have any idea but Okinawa follows just the same set of laws as all other prefectures in Japan.
I envy you so much, i'm Okinawan but as I was born in another country I cannot live in Okinawa now. I want to know what kind of job can I do to live in my ancestors land because it is my dream to live there 😢

It’s nice to know that we have the same hobbies. You can always try to paint too. No need to be very good at it. What’s important is that you can express your thoughts and feelings. Thank you very much for your support! 🤗

How do I come here in Okinawa and stay? any ways to reach this place please share me?
@nijinomonogatari498 Жыл бұрын
It’s a plane ride away from mainland Japan. The duration would depend on which prefecture are you coming from. Feel free to visit the island. For sure, you will enjoy. 🤗

hi.. I really like your videos and your thoughts about living in Okinawa. I read quite a lot about Okinawa, but the more I know about Okinawa's history and development, the more I empathize with okinawans, they are kind and friendly people when compared to mainland japan..but unfortunately the development in okinawa prefecture is very slow and seems forgotten..
@nijinomonogatari4982 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much Aprilia. I agree with you. However, despite the slow development, I’d still prefer to live in Okinawa than in mainland Japan. But of course, I still enjoy visiting other prefectures. By the way, have you read the book Ikigai? 🤗
@apriliagayatri17302 жыл бұрын
@@nijinomonogatari498 Yes, I've read Ikigai, this book has also been translated into my language, Indonesian. It is surprising that some of the Okinawan life principles coincide with the teachings of our prophet. If I may tell you, our prophet, Muhammad SAW, taught us to stop eating before we are full, also about fasting at least 2 days a week. Likewise we are advised to fast on Mondays and Thursdays. What's interesting about Okinawa for me is that it turns out that some of the Okinawan culture is similar to the culture of my country. Like Okinawa has Kariyushi clothes that can be worn casually and formally, also Bingata painting, Indonesia has Batik clothes, some painting are also similar. Some of the dishes are also similar too, Okinawa has Goya Champuru, in Indonesian we call it Campur (mixing vegetables). by the way, I'm waiting for your other videos. have a good day..
