People fail to realize when you have to split your brain between (directing, gaffing, camera op) as a solo filmmaker and your talent is looking at you, the power level of the nerves is over 9000!! lol great vid bro!

You're a humble man. Thanks for the content. I've been exploring more about lighting myself.

Man, I can't tell you enough how much I appreciate your honesty. Your thoughts are the exact same that I have about my own work and sometimes the way KZbinrs talk makes it feel condescending instead of a learning journey and process of self-improvement. I think it's great that you took the time to do this and learn from it. Honestly, I think the frames are great, especially considering you were doing everything by yourself which is hard. Here are my thoughts but who's to say it's right - 1st Frame - Throw a hard directional light (like the BG slash) across your talent. Like the lower half of their body. That would help sell the idea of a light coming through a window 2nd Fame - Neg Fill

Man! That's a brilliant idea for the first frame. I remember tiny machine doing that on our last set! That would definitely add dimension. And yeah the 2nd frame was to open. Need more definition.

Thank you for this video. I always get something out of your work, either new ideas, perspectives or solutions to things I'm doing. For the shot of the artist on the grass it looks like the light from the sky was overpowering your lights, and I've seen a good setup on Crankycameraman youtube channel, cutting over head ambient light with 5 n 1 reflectors so that the light from the sky doesn't flatten everything out. He uses that technique for interior interviews but also for his news work and a then pushes in light to make it look the way he wants.

For the second lighting setup I think you could of use a ND filter outside since you wanted to enchanted the lighting with the aputure light in addition with the sun
