I think the best way to determine if an independent variable influences a dependent variable is with an experimental design. We have to control the independent variable to infer a causal relationship.

Hello. thanks for your good videos. I've a question. If independent variable has a 7-point Likert scale and the dependent variable uses 5-point Likert scale, how to analyze the simple linear regression? doesnt it make problem? what is the best solution for this? or can I converty 7 to 5 scale? thanks
