Don't forget that every segment of your wires or pipes is an object. It counts toward the construction limit. Both 3k limit for uploading base and 16k per account. So other than hiding wires it's also important to optimize your wiring if you're planning to build a lot.

Thanks for making this guide. I recently captured footage of hundreds of bases for a project & wires were easily the most obtrusive item to try to capture footage around. It's saddening to see highly detailed bases with wires obscuring so much of that hard work. I keep lying to myself that one of these days we're going to get a motion camera option besides build cam/base cam in solo instances ...

I like the cloaking device behavior as it is now. The reason is that I can use teleport/bytebeat cables, etc. for other things that I want visible. For example, I used bytebeat cables as docking tethers on a pontoon boat (and as fencing elsewhere) I built in one of my bases. If you care to have a look, the base name is "It's MY island" (nod to character 'Stephen' in the movie Braveheart). Using legacy names, the address in Eissentam is: bird:sunset:voxel:rocket:sunset:bird:sunset:galaxy:tree:boat:rocket:boat.

I remember hiding all my wires before the cloaking device. Since then, I just pick a center point, pull all wires from there and cloak them all. I may take more care in my next build and tuck those wires away. 😀

I don't even purchase the wire hider, lol. I hide my wires manually where it's required, so I can use wires as a building element where it isn't.

What about using the free base power option when placing the base computer as then you don't have any wires for visitors to see? Are there any issues with that option? Doesn't help if you are wiring up switches of course 😊.
