I liked this video very much. Also a studio environment on the back is quite awesome looking

I am on vacation, so I'm not able to check this.... however, I think the sorters are using more power than the connectors. So if you toggle the sorters on and off, you can save some power consumption.

Hey Beebs, looks like that other hauler ship you salvaged has other parts of it intact that would give you an idea of how the complete ship would look. Great episode as always.

I have been really enjoying your series. I am playing along from home but just modified my Spitze version of scrap yard to continue that adventure after I got off planet.

Group all except reverse thrusters. Then group reverse thrusters. Use reverse thrusters like brakes. Flies forward without having to hold trusters forward. Flies like a helicopter. Saves a lot of fuel.

for the airlocks, i think it's easier to simply make sure one door is closed before the other door can open... worrying about constant depressurizing and repressurizing simply is flawed because you need to continually watch tank levels... you need room in the tank to depressurize a room/airlock... and being in a pressurized room will use some O2 over time, which means that the tank will need fresh O2 made at some point... only way i can see to use your method is to have an O2 system for the main room and a separate system for the airlocks, and leave the airlock tank at roughly 80%.. with simply making sure one door does not open while the other door is open, yes some air is lost still traversing thru the locks, but you can function with one air system and can run ALL your O2 gens without worry of tank levels "except if you run out of ice..lol"....

FWIW, adding closed captions explanations of what is happening during the time lapse sections would help us to understand better what your thought processes are while you are re-re-re-re-re-designing the grid. (Some content creators--like Mr. Chickadee--don't talk at all during their videos, just keeping up a running commentary in the closed captions. As KZbin offers auto-translation, this means pretty much anyone can know what is going on in their own language without the creator needing to localize anything.)

The difference around 2:36:00 are, that you grind one of the batteries down from partly build and the other from fully build, that seems to make a difference . At least I have experienced, that if I first build a block to 100% before I try to hack it, then it's possible to get ownership of the block. It also seems that if a not owned battery is on an owned grid the chance for not loosing power cells when hacked are increased. The latter may be a coincidence though...

As you build those solar arrays _waaaaay_ up high in the air, I can't help but wonder if your turrets are intelligent enough to *not* shoot right through them to hit enemy targets.

This is so strange for me. I prefer to watch videos that are approximately 30 minutes long. However, when it comes to yours, I enjoy the hour-long extravaganza's that you have been making. I'm at a loss. LOL The hydrogen storage facility looks great!!!

With regard to the power estimate in the HUD, I'm relatively sure they only really calculate the power from whatever is stored in the batteries but I've found that just looking at the estimated power is not good enough and you need to make a note of how much stored power you have. Obviously your generated power will be supplying power to your base, from whichever source, but if you are constantly recharging your batteries then there is no power problem as you're operating at a surplus, so place more batteries to get more stored power just in case your exposed turbines and solar panels get damaged.

Great episode as always Beebs. Very nice looking hydro production plant. I especially like the combination of the colors of the blocks, lights, and icy background. You should be good to go for hydrogen for the next thousand years haha! Could power the whole base with hydro engines moving forward if you don’t mind the noise.

I'm not sure you needed the sorters at all. Set the connectors to "Collect All and "Throw Out" since those containers only have ice on it. Then put the collectors in a group and have them turn on when the containers are full. This way you can save on power and make the ejectors in a line which would kinda look nice.
@edwardseth12305 күн бұрын
i like the time lapse music. (2nd solar array) Suggestion: LCDs % on each container.. including gas (O2/H2) in the ice basement..

yeah the NPC thrusters threw me for a bit too... in atmosphere if you capture a ship with these thrusters "they come in atmospheric as well" you lose total control as they shut off when AI block is shut down.... typically this leads to the ship crashing before you can do anything further... really annoying if your trying to use as scrap/salvage....

I don't understand how people do this glitch reliably, 9 out of 10 of my attempts fail because I can't get the timing right, the ones that succeed are just dumb luck since I don't see how any human being can memorize the precise timing necessary to pull it off. Is it easier on consoles because of the lower framerate or something? What am I missing?

I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I tried to use UAG to place a ladder on a wooden wall, I duplicated the ladder, pressed Q + C, then duplicated a wall and pressed Q + LMB but it just wound up placing the wall normally. Then when I went back to try it again and pressed Q + C, the wall re-appeared. For some reason the wall is being stored in the cache, not the laddder.

@@Beeblebum don't need to. Was able to capture 4 smaller ships that had weapons using the ship I left the planet with (it had a turret) and use the weapons on the captured ship to build a bigger and better ship. Have only needed to use my jet pack to hids from internal turrets
