Immaculate friend…..where did you go…in the big sleep. This great song makes me think of an old friend of mine who got himself mixed up in some bad company and died way before his time……..I’ve lost a few actually and this song makes me think of them all……….in a good way thankfully. Rest in peace.

Yes indeed! Even though their previous albums & the one that followed rightfully earned a massive respect from those who 'get' music, IMHO "New Gold Dream" struck the PERFECT balance of all that makes an album great. It featured artful maturity & vision, creativity, superb songwriting, excellent performances by all band members (.i.e true masters of their craft), band & album cohesiveness, lyrical journeys & inspiration, awesome engineering/recording/production, and plenty of memorable 'earworms'! FYI, I was in university at the time, I did a ton of partying in bars & clubs & did some D.J.-ing too...and I can attest to the fact that New Gold Dream stood out from & sat far above 'the noise' of the overcrowded airwaves & MuchMusic/MTV/etc.

What a great song! I remember that one live in 1990, the start of it was so different and fantastic, turned out to be BIG SLEEP. Was later released as the b-side of the Kick It In 12", I think.
