Wait…are you THE Bruce Findlay? If so, thank you for everything you did to help make the Minds a household name! Under your auspices the Minds rose to global prominence, and, going by Graeme Thomson’s biography, you were absolutely integral to their ascension. Also, thank you for not suing me and/or putting the kibosh on the channel! To answer your question (from the "I Travel" comment): I discovered the Minds a bit later, around the time when “Don’t You” and “Alive & Kicking” were hitting the charts. While you’re here, I just have to ask you a question: The “dream giver redux” site lists several Minds gigs that were officially recorded, such as the Futurama 3 Festival on September 6th, 1981. Do you think they will ever see an official release? Anyway, thank you for checking out these humble offerings and your kind words…it means a lot! All the best to you!

@@110BERLIN_ I am 'that' Bruce Findlay and first of all, I love your remixes/ videos and 'sleeve notes'. It takes me back. Many Simple Minds gigs were recorded, but if any were to be released, then the record company and the band would almost certainly have to agree. I stopped managing them in 1990 and so have absolutely no say ( or idea) in possible releases of old recordings. I still see and hear from Jim and Charlie from time to time and in fact was interviewed for their latest documentary ( Paramount plus). Anyway, I rant ...great to hear from you and keep up the good work. 🙂👍✊️

It's about time someone had another go at New Gold Dream....laying heavily on the instruments..., especially Dereks driving bass to the fore ...I've never come across a NGD instrumental anywhere . Fancy a challenge? 😂

It’s not necessarily an impediment that there isn’t an instrumental version, but how to do anything with NGD that hasn’t been done before? I need to re-listen to the various versions with fresh ears. Maybe something will suggest itself.

@@hughesy45108 I hear you. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to tools that allow de-mixing, which, for example, Giles Martin used for some recent Beatles mixes. Not even sure if there is affordable software for the mass-market - I need to look into that.
