Yes; might not have been a great technician, but some of his lines are just phenomenal. I also think that of Charlie Burchill though; vastly underrated guitarist. The John McGeoch force is strong within him!

Great quality footage of agreat song. My favourite Simple minds song. This was the band at their peak. interesting and innovative sounds. This band were as good as O.M.D and Roxy Music when firing on all cylinders.

Underground/Alternative music/club scene was decadent in the 80's. I agree you would have lost your s**t but we'll pretend I enjoyed your part of the blast. Hedonist, the belief WWIII was impending, drugs, fabulous music, us marvelous weirdo's who normalized body piercings dyed hair and going against the grain. Cheers! May the music live on ..

i worrked that show as security got the band on stage. great to see the old club in its splendor. simple minds rocked that night. ruth sadly died in a freak car crash before the limelight

This was shown on the Old Grey Whistle test in the late 70s I think & was what got me into them.Derek Forbes one of the best bass players & instrumental in their early sound, never the same without him & then off a cliff when Mick McNeil left.

By far Hurrah's was the club to go to back in the day, I bet Simple Minds played twice that night! And in between sets the DJ's played the coolest new music from all over the globe!!
