Great to hear this bass playing. This was Derek Forbes' last recording with Simple Minds. He is an incredible bass player. If you are not familiar with Simple Minds' work from 1981-84 check out his bass playing, it is fantastic. This was a band at the top of their game, especially between 1982 and 1984.

It feels almost like a triplet or if you're familiar with the long short method for making things sounds jazzy think of a long short short 5 55 5 55 5 55 7 77 7 77

@@mfbloem Slow it down - hope that does not sound too obvious. I practiced the rhythm on guitar a bit a few years before getting more into bass. But it needs quite a bit of work. As I have not done it for some time I did not stop drifting off on my second attempt at this. But keep at it cos' once you get it, it is very addictive. And definitely use a metronome or simple drum track.
