Not sure if I've mentioned this before, but I attended the SM concert in Toronto last year and was disappointed that they didn't play Love Song (even though my wife said they did). I just found this (kzbin.info/www/bejne/gXzPooupZstke8k - thank you nyko3424) on-line which proves that they didn't. But now I wish I'd gone to the sound check.

I saw them in Wollongong twice when they toured with INXS (on 1st tour) and Devo (on 2nd tour). I was lucky that they played Love Song both times! The first tour with INXS was better as they played a lot of the early/more unknown song (Chelsea Girl/Celebrate/I Travel/Hunter and Hunted). The 2nd tour focused more on the later stuff post Waterfront (😢😢)..looks like they scrapped Love Song on the Toronto tour as they couldnt get the sound right? Nice to meet another SM devotee! 👏👏

I'm from a small southern town in Alabama. Back in the 80's when a teenage boy had two choices of music he was allowed to listen to, Country or Heavy Metal, I chose to read music magazines that covered musicians from the entire music industry. From there I found Joy Division, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Nick Cave, Sonic Youth, Swans, Einstürzende Neubauten, and Simple Minds. It wasn't easy getting my buddies to check any of these incredible artists out, but that became their loss. Not putting down the country and metal music by any means, all music has it's place. But Simple Minds, with this song, this mix, this energy, proves beyond any doubt that in the final assessment of eighties music, it ultimately, without question, did not suck.

Superb remix! The only problem with the original was it was too short, so thanks for the extended version of my favorite SM tune!!

Behind: I get a LOT of flak for lack of mix originality - it's nice to get a comment from someone who understands the true reason for these... I hate having to hit the replay button!

@@zhd-net nevermind the haters zhd, you nailed it. This is the mix we needed in the dance clubs back in the 80's!

When I think that 10 minutes is too short, I think you have done really well.

It's a fine line between successful extension and a long, boringly repetitive track - a line I've crossed many times. I think this is one of my better efforts and it's nice to believe that at least one other person thinks this is not a total fail. Thank you.

The level off the bass is fabulous. I need to put this on a CD.

Scorpii: It's been a while since I hit the dance floor - my excuse was always "DJ's don't dance" - not sure that's valid any more..... and 3am? What's that? LOL.
