Life moves so fast! Where has it gone? This song makes me cry, remembering a time that was once sublime, crashing beats and fantasy. I am 47 I can't leave this era, it is impossible, where would we be without Mick Mcneal's Keyboards and Charlie's chiming Guitars, Derek's hammering Bass and Mel's monster beats, and Jim's haunting vox and summer encrusted lyrics. God bless!

This album contains a frankly obscene number of incredible songs: The dramatically brilliant Someone, Somewhere with perhaps the greatest couple of lines ever written... the relentless Glittering Prize .... the astonishing and grown up Big Sleep .... each one of them could make a case for the best song ever .... and then this ....number one .... always. Remarkable, so far ahead of its times it is scary ....Bieber, Lipa and the rest of you, have a listen. Then retire. Please.

For me this is one of the all time great songs. This is the Minds golden period from 80 to 84 when they produced stuff that was just on another level. A thing of immense beauty and wonder. The best thing they ever did.
56 and this song still send ripple's of something thrashing around my body.. Man I knew it was good all those years ago when it hammered through the door speaker's on my Ford Capri full BLAST
Chanson magique. Complètement intemporelle. Les Simple minds sont au sommet de leur art..

I am nearly 55 and this track is one of my all time favorites. The 80's was just amazing I reminisce everyday and play this track every morning before work. It puts me in a great place before a stressful day at work. Thank you to all the members of Simple Minds who have gave me the best memories and dance moves ever! Lots of love Jim and the crew. My sister visited Jim's beautiful Hotel just recently in Italy called Villa Angel. I must admit I was so jealous when I saw the Picture's. But I was very fortunate to see Simple Minds at Ibrox Park in June 7th 1986. Best day out ever.❤

Some of the early Minds tunes are exceptional given how young the band members were. This one has always stood out.

They were only 23 or thereabouts...only 5 years after forming with no real formal music training...

Yes that's the key the maturity of the song writing and composition for such a young band was incredible. Musicianship off the scale. The keyboards in this bring tears of joy to my eyes. Wish I had kept up piano lessons.

I bought the album this belongs to in 1982....I was 13/14.....I played it to death then and still do.. Sons and Fascination too...I long for the days when I went to HMV to buy an album with pocket money. I’d devour the artwork, lyrics and smell....Although this album didn’t have lyrics. For me, 1980-82 was an amazing time for records...Japan, Bowie, Gary Numan, Killing Joke, Banshees, Cure etc..

I'm going to be 60 this winter. I went to Los Angeles as a make-up artist for Yves Saint Laurent, and worked for them for quite a while. I was with the crew that launched the Fragrance "Paris", at the Bel-Air Hotel in Los Angeles. It was great, we had so much fun in those days, when we were all beautiful and sparkly.
