arguably one of the best albums produced in the early ‘80s. and love song, released well before, a masterpiece.

Agree ,this song is a masterpiece.The song was not made from theirselves and was reserved for Biily Idol and he refuged.After Idol saw it as the biggest mistake in his carreer!

I saw them live in Melbourne Australia in 1984 when I was 23 with my then boyfriend, they did a tour with The Eurythmics. I left that show a Simple Minds freak and still have the New Gold Dream cassette from back then. I live in country Victoria now so couldn’t get down to see them, devastated. This is brilliant thank you, for those of us who wanted to go but couldn’t!! Just as bloody epic as they were back then!!,

Thank you! Absolute magic. Saw SM for the third time in Taupō a few weeks ago, where they kicked off this tour. A beautiful natural amphitheater by the lake but I would have preferred to be front row in the Sydney Opera House! Way better sound quality and you got a very full set (we had 1.5 fab hours after Pseudo Echo - so good and energetic! - and Collective Soul - fine if you like that sort of thing - and Texas - blah!). How dreamy are 'Theme for Great Cities' and 'Hunter and the Hunted' live?!

Had tickets to see them Easter '83, but got offered an Easter Holiday in the UK that collided. So handed over the tickets to my sis an her hubby. They could later rub my nose in tales of it being by far the best concert they'd ever attended!BUMMER!🤬 Had my revenge in the summer of '89 at a huge arena concert, and later again some 7 years ago👍 And have tickets yet again for the upcoming month. That said; I miss Mel. She's okay, but Mel OWNS the songa from NGD 81-82-83-84 For me perhaps thee best album coming outta the eighties😘👌🏻

Erik Ljunggren: played with a slew of Norwegian groups eg. Seigmen, Vampire State Building, Zeromancer, before a long stint working with members of a-ha. Certainly a great addition to Simple Minds. no-m-wikipedia-org.translate.goog/wiki/Erik_Ljunggren?_x_tr_sl=it&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp

Watched some recent shows on YT lately. I don't know if Jim thinks his Prrr... thing is cool, but in fact it's bloody annoying and a hell of a good reason not to buy tickets! Absolutely hate it.
@greatgigs_oz8 ай бұрын
@frankdecock2735 It’s as idiosyncratic as his ‘Lemmeseeyourhands’ ‘everythingok?’ and trademark back bends. I guess after doing thousands of shows you, me or any of us might be guilty of repeating a few habitual traits too…
@frankdecock27358 ай бұрын
@@greatgigs_oz Let me see your hands makes sense. And we show them... but "prrr....", well, I'll go cuddle a cat instead :). True, it's probably a (in my eyes very bad) habit. Anyway, I've seen them alive plenty, so there's no need to expose myself to Prr... But sorry, it's a real mood killer to me. Never mind, just my 2 cents.
