I can relate so much you have no idea! I always took art class in junior high and high school and love art. In high school my art teacher always gave me bad grades and told me that I wasn't trying hard enough. It really crushed my creative spirit. I was so happy when I found paper crafting and mixed media. It may not be "fine art" but it makes my creative soul so happy. I am so grateful that you shared this with me. I still struggle with those "not good enough" feelings my art teacher instilled in me. SO good, Tiffany!!! Love the concept of slapping the gesso down as being an easy first step and commitment to starting a new project. Your pages turned out phenomenally beautiful! If anyone wants to know some good starting points for mixed media I love starting with either a pen or pencil sketch, blocking in with alchohal markers, then going to blend with watercolor after I finish with color pencils to add detail

I wonder if you take some paper and cut it down to atc size... add some gesso and then just try different techniques on the paper first... maybe add some splatters to one..... sprays on the another... just to get more confidence. This video was to break down a simple mixed media process to help those that want to try it and understand the layers. The transfers are just a starting point. People can use whatever they want. Some of my audience can draw, most like myself can not. I don't find joy in it. Products like these are helpful.
