I work on chainsaws, and the long needle nose pliers, especially the bent-nose long ones, are essential for fishing new fuel lines into the fuel tank.....

I've had good luck loosening tight riveted pliers by either spraying with liquid wrench or a soak in atf/acetone mix and working the pliers back and forth. A few sets of pliers benefited by first soaking the pivots in mineral spirits before lubing up with a penetrant oil.

I have Channellock and Kliens mostly, and a really old pair of Protos I inherited from my Dad. Recently I got the long ones in a variety of configurations from advance auto, which so far I'm quite pleased with. I have cheaper ones as well. One has the thicker style grips and a pair of Stanley, both the grips came loose and slid off and had to glue them back on. Good enough to keep in a kit for offroading. The Greenlees look quite nice

Yes the long ones are handy I want to get one of the pairs that are spark plug wire-pullers. Needle-nose end up getting damaged so easily it's nice to have some extras

I CAN NOT decide on a cheap pair of 5 inchers with cutters. WTH is decent enough for the tool drawer priced less than 10 bucks on amazon ??

@@nunyadambidniss I know it's been awhile but for that price point I'd look at Tsunoda Rp-125 on amazon. Made in Japan.

I needed needle nose in an emergency yesterday. Went to Walmart and got the Hart brand. Not the best but definitely not trash. I’m very well machined and will b my back up emergency needle nose.

They're not made here anymore, so the US made Craftsman pliers would have to be NOS. There was so much stuff made that it's not all sold yet.

Channellock 318 and 317 have cutters. The model 3017 don't have a cutter. 318WS has a cutter and two holes for wire stripping (AWG 12 and 14).

It's amazing how many different types of pliers there are. Sometimes I think it's a bit much some of the small variations

I appreciate your numerous and detail comments if some of your messages don't show up it's because you have links and I have KZbin hold posts with links because of the immense amount of spam in KZbin comments so if your message doesn't show up for a day or two just wait I'll end up approving it

If you like collecting cool tools, grab a pair of safety wire pliers. Only guys that use them are gonna be aircraft mechanics and maybe some race car mechanics.

Seems like when I buy a new pair of pliers I spend 20-30 min just working and oiling the pivot point to loosen them up. If you don’t , at least for me , they are unusable.

Yes and that's a good thing if you get a set of pliers that starts out Loose and easy to move the only get worse after that so it's better to have them be really tight and then break in
