I have two kids (2.5 and 6weeks) and I don’t homestead but wow I love watching your channel. It’s inspired me to continue to buy beef from a local farmer, make more meals at home and make more from scratch! Thanks for creating these videos and sharing your life ❤

I began making hamburger buns over a year ago. What a difference than those gross store bought ones. I like to add about a cup of mashed potatoes or 1/2 cup of potato flakes for really tender buns. They hold together better and don't get soggy like store bought buns. I also canned some carrots this week with jars that were on the counter.....maybe the best tip I've learned from your videos. Thanks for sharing!

Sweet Jessica, thanks for reminding us how important it is to make real food for our families that nourish both their bodies and souls. I too have family members with dietary restrictions and get inspiration from the adjustments you make to make my own and provide safe, tasty meals.

I sure wish all this information had been around when I was a young mother. Now I’m a young grandmother so it’s fun to show my children that it’s possible to do so much at home. They don’t feel they have the time or find it helpful, oh well. I truly appreciate all your efforts to show us how you do things. Love and blessings to you and the family.

Jessica I always enjoy how you care for your family. I agree with you about home made bread being better and I have a goal to bake for my daughter’s family. Growing up my parents had a little country grocery store attached to our house so we ate outdated bread from the store. I think that’s why I’ve never cared much for bread. I’m still amazed at how good fresh bread is

Burgers, fries and coleslaw 🤩 Probably one of my favourite combos. It really is a gift to ourselves to prep different items for later in the week. I just made muffins, apple crisp and a couple pumpkin breads yesterday. I'm always grateful when I put the work in up front so it gives me time for other things later in the week, especially when it's some relaxation!

Outside the US it's juice if it's alcohol free, cider if alcoholic. For those of you outside the US, here we call it juice if ALL solids have been strained out of the juice or if a steam juicer has been used (so it's cooked, basically), if it's raw and there's a small amount of tiny solids we call it cider. If it has alcohol we call it HARD cider.

What a wonderful video today. Love to see how you feed your large family... and all from scratch. You absolutly amaze me, Jessica. Btw, if you ever have that pulp leftover from making milk and you don't use it up in some recipe, feed it to your chickens and turn it into eggs! My girls go gaga when they see me coming out with that special bowl, lol. I admire so much how you never let anything go to waste.

You are amazing! ❤. My kids are all grown and out of the house, how I wish I would have had KZbin available to learn from when they were young. Our dream is to get freeze dryer someday. Wow! Now my goal is to make dairy free milk. I have issues with dairy so this is amazing and I love the fact that you don't add major sugar to sweeten it. ❤

I love to make plant based yogurt. I use soy milk for ours and I use that yogurt for salad dressings too. I have frozen a small jar of it, so that I can use that as my culture rather than buying one. It used to work when I made yogurt from milk, so I am hoping that it will work for the plant based as well.

Hi! Thank you again for an interresting video!❤ Just a tip. I also make my youghurt from coconut-milk. I use 1 tsp of corn starch pr pint of milk, just as the coconut milk have melted, before it's warm. I heat it to 180 F. and that helps thickening, or binding the wey to the cream after it's chilled. I cool it to the right youghurt temp (107F) , before I add a couple of tablespoons of leftover youghurt from a different batch, or powdered culture. You could also probably use tapioka, or what you call the stuff you use to thicken your sauces with. No gelatine or anything. It makes a smooth and lovely youghurt. ❤Be blessed!

You're definitely building healthy habits and bodies in your children. Convenience foods already made in the store aren't healthy at all. Many of our grocery food products are banned in other countries, because of the toxic ingredients, I'm sure you know. These are the best meals. Truly a proverbs woman.

Apparently it was the year of the cabbage moth/cabbage butterfly, as I've heard many say they had a poor harvest. This year was my first attempt at growing cabbage, and I ended up giving them all to my sister for her chickens. It was not my first year to grow kohlrabi, but for the first time ever, the insects decimated the plants...completely stripped them of leaves, so that they never developed. I put in three plantings, and harvested ONE kohlrabi! I've bought some netting now, so next year I'll be prepared.

Those lids really are great!!! Almost through my first 100 sleeve of narrow mouth lids 😮. Glad I got both the narrow and wide because I apparently have way more narrow jars now than I used to since I've been making lots of jams and jellies in your inspiration (among so much else but you really are inspiring!). The kids sure aren't complaining. Anyways the lids have sealed fabulously. I was skeptical because I prefer to buy made in the US (or Europe or Canada) things especially with food, but these are far superior to the Ball and Kerr lids of recent makes. So thank you again for recommendation and as always for your videos where you teach us so much.
