I just learned that Explode the Code is and Orton Gillingham program! It seemed perfect for my son so we recently switched to it with one of my kids. It's been perfect. I WISH I did it with my oldest. Getting ready to start the little one with it - I got the teacher's guide with hers for a complete program. It's fantastic!

Do you have any thoughts on their ETC Online program? I'm thinking about using it for my 2nd grader but I can't find much info on it online!

I'm trying it next year! I'll get back to you on it, but I've heard that it is pretty good. Supposedly the questions adjust automatically in difficulty level as the student progresses.

What age would you say these would be good for?

Depending on your child’s hand grip and interest in writing/alphabet, I’d say anywhere from age 3-5. They’re excellent starter books for any small child who wants to master their alphabet sounds.
