Thanks for this very helpful product review on this light. I've been thinking of getting it to keep everything on my red sea reefer on one app so this has me convinced.

I’ve done the same. Reef dose and 160s for now. Will add the Red Sea roller fleece when it available. Pitty they released their wave makers just a couple of months after I went with Maxspect Gyres 🤣

Hi Thomas, propably you don't reed this but I need a advice from you all the WY from Norway. I have a waterbox 180.5 pro 60 long 25 wide and 25 deep. I have 3x reefled 160s and they are spread evenly in the middle. I feel that it's too much intensity between the lights somehow and I seen you make meassurements for best spread on 3 lightfixtures on quite a few lights and wonder if you can help me out with this. I have no chance of it being done by myself. Lightspill is something I can deal with by easy putting sides on the lights. I really just want a more optimal light sheet and penetration to the bottom. And t5s is a good way to get a divorce. This is on the rim of what I am allowed for aesthetic only because I have the arms so she fortunately see no cables. Or else I would mix up. Also can I run them on max without burning the sps in the upper third of the column? They are in long acclimation phase now for 90 days where I aimed at 80% intensity in the end.
@ThomasBReef3 жыл бұрын
Hey! So, first, do you have a PAR meter you can use to verify the intensity between the fixtures? If yes, then it's a super simple procedure of finding the hot spot between the lights where PAR is higher than directly under either of the fixtures, and then starting on just one side of the tank, slowly move the fixture on the side further towards the end of the tank until that hot spot between the fixtures matches directly below one of the fixtures. Once you hit that magic spot, you can measure how far the fixture on the side is from the end of the tank, and then you'll also know the distance the fixture on the opposite end of the tank needs to be from it's respective end of the tank!

Blue led damages human eyes. Does blue led damage fish and invert eyes ?

@hurricaneaquatics Жыл бұрын
@@quantumsneak1773 Well, think of it this way, blue LEDs are actually white LEDs that are colored. The sun has a much harsher spectrum than we could ever replicate in the aquarium. Light overall is made up of all colors. The only time I've ever seen fish go crazy is if you go from pitch dark and turn full lighting on them. But as far as scientific damage to fish eyes, no, I've never seen any studies.

The lights are great with good shimmer but they disconnect all the time. They don't like to run grouped. That being said, once they are setup even if they disconnect they will continue to run that same light setup. So long as you don't need to go in and change anything you can set it and forget it. But the disconnect issue is annoying because it sends alerts to my phone
@JimRichardHartmann3 жыл бұрын
I have updates going on very often, but you need to check out in the device manager of the app and choose for each of them to update to get it properly done. I had these problems with disconnected light, but they seem to have fixed it, and I wait for the reefwaves to be fixed now.

I dont know if its a surprise or not that they still havent fixed that reefbeat app. For the price of that light the app is absolute rubbish and the 2 channel + moon spectrum is too rudimentary. I wont be buying another red sea hardware product unless they make some serious changes. The skimmer is too basic, the doser is ridiculously overpriced, the lights are crap, the app is crap, the gyres are the only thing that is ok and even that is overpriced compared to the opposition. Youre paying for the eco system of reefbeat, which is not worth a penny.
@cagive243 жыл бұрын
The app works great just some people just don't generally know how to use the reef beat app why would you want to keep adjusting your lights anyway just set it and then leave it alone ?
@im160bpmplus3 жыл бұрын
@@cagive24 The app doesnt work great. There isnt much to know 'how to use' its so rudimentary. When you have 4 or more items on one wifi or more than one tank running reefbeat it is a nightmare. Its not set and forget at all. It constantly disconnects, it can not reconnect all items at once and you need to power on one by one. A child could write a better app and a lot of people have the same issue. Its not a lack of ability thats for sure buddy. The customer support will tell you to delete your profile and start again as a remedy to boot. Beyond fail... im not a troll, im an experienced and capable , angry and disappointed, long time customer.
