Hi . I am new to the hobbie and just purchased the e260 which comes with 2x90 lights. I will only be having softies in my tank until i find my feet . Could you help we with whats best to grow theres corals . Im running at 55% blue 12% white . Will this be ok . Thanks
@Redseafish4 ай бұрын
You can use the pre-set schedules (15/20/23K) at 100% and if that's too much you can acclimate the corals for 90 days starting at 50% and the app will bring it up to 100% in the given amounts of days. If you see the corals stress at a certain point start the acclimation over at 10% from where you detected the stress to slowly work your way up to 100%. You will figure out what the best % are after a few weeks of acclimation and can drop the % to the desired level.

@Redseafish4 жыл бұрын
ReefLED includes a relatively small amount of an 8000 Kelvin (“White channel”) allowing you to set a color that is more pleasing to your eye. The “Reef-Spec Blue” channel, which is a proprietary combination of blue, violet and ultra-violet wavelengths, is actually the only one required to ensure healthy coral growth. Based on our extensive research, the ratio of the blue, violet and UV in the Reef-Spec Blue channel has been set to optimal levels and therefore splitting it to its component parts introduces an unnecessary margin for error. In addition, the The combination of the 2 channels will always produce a spectrum that can be found on natural reefs to a depth of approximately up to 30M.

@Redseafish5 жыл бұрын
Hi Mike, That's a great question. Let's start with the fact that whatever radiation the corals are not utilizing, turns into heat, promotes free radicals and damages coral tissue, zoox etc. Giving the corals exactly what they needed led out our R&D team to develop the exact blend that would do exactly that. The compact LED array that includes a multi-wavelength, 23,000 Kelvin “REEF-SPEC Blue” channel (a proprietary blend of blue, violet and ultraviolet LEDs) which, together with an 8,000K White channel, provides a reef-safe range of color temperatures that enable all corals to flourish. 80 out of the 90 watts- are “REEF-SPEC Blue”; 10 watts are the 8,000K which is what our eyes need to see to achieve the ideal color. Without extra channels and unlimited control of different color options (which some don't contribute to the coral and cause radiation damage) we managed to minimize the risk of user error as well as the need of all of us becoming "light engineers" to figure out which light recipe is the best\optimal\looks the nicest.

@Redseafish5 жыл бұрын
@@Day_Paints The longer version is that the ReefLED is Reef-Safe as it has been designed to provide only Reef-Spec light however the user will set it. Based on our research into the photobiology of corals, we have been able to identify the specific light spectrum and intensity (Reef-Spec) that is required to support corals and other inhabitants in a reef aquarium. Light that is outside of these parameters may become an unwanted energy source that turns into heat, promotes the formation of toxic free oxygen radicals and damages coral tissue, zooxanthellae etc. Many LED units on the market can be set to provide the Reef-Spec requirements however most of them also provide undesired wavelengths, have a higher than desired intensity and allow the user to set unbalanced ratios of the desired wavelengths. These features significantly increase the possibility of user error which may damage a reef through incorrect settings. The compact LED array of the ReefLED includes a multi-wavelength, “REEF-SPEC Blue” channel (a proprietary blend of blue, violet and ultraviolet LEDs) that is equivalent to 23,000 Kelvin, which together with an 8,000K White channel, provides a reef-safe spectrum that enable all corals to flourish. The compact array sits under an optical-glass hollow lens that ensures a homogeneous light spectrum with ideal PAR values throughout the aquarium, without hotspots or areas with insufficient light for coral growth and coloration. With 80 watts of “REEF-SPEC Blue” and only 10 watts of the 8,000K the ReefLED can be set according to your personal color preference while maintaining a Reef-Spec setting at all times. Not exceeding the correct daily Photoperiod is also important for the safety of your reef so the ReefBeat App that controls the ReefLED gives warnings if any settings are outside or our Reef-safe guidelines.

I don't like these brackets, as they dont seem adjustable in any scense. Height and or depth should be adjustable based on aquarium type. Also little was said about the clamping of this item. Is it only for rimless tanks? What about thick rimmed tanks? Also bluetooth programmability would have been better much like current USA has done with there system. Internet is not required and neither is the extra router and no loss of features. Another big thing is the colors are not fully customizable as some of the more competitive brands of lighting. Sure they are pricey, but we haven't hears anything about price on your models of lights either, nor have you shown full effects of color on various coral esp zoas. The tanks you should in this video were very plain with limited coral species and not much color. I think alot needs to be addressed here.
