had an idea. if you added another nut under the seat with a short rod on it you could adjust the height of the seat then lock it in so it doesnt move.
@PatrickRemington
@PatrickRemington 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I thought of that but so far it doesn't bother me that it moves. Whenever I try to use it as a footstool that's when I'm going to wish I had done that 😂😂

Hi Pat - nice vid - If you made a three legged stool you don't need to worry about wobbly legs etc on uneven floors - you seem to be lucky and have good floors
@PatrickRemington
@PatrickRemington 2 жыл бұрын
I did NOT think of that! That’s smart. I was considering three legs but only for esthetics.. My floor is mostly flat.. it kind of just depends on where in the shop you are but thanks for teaching me something!

Did you MiG that? Of so, did you use flux, or. What were you feeding the puddle with?

That's a cool project. Question, your used MIG for the legs but switched to TIG for the horizontal bars is there a reason why?
@PatrickRemington
@PatrickRemington 2 жыл бұрын
Not really. Just wanted to practice with both. Although I do like welding smaller stuff with TIG since you can be so precise with it but you could use either for this.

I noticed you switched from the MIG welder to the TIG at some point and then back. I am not super informed on welding so just wondering about the switch?

No reason! Just practicing each one. I haven’t used my tig welder in a while.

Nice work... Question... What blade do you have in your cut-off saw?
@PatrickRemington
@PatrickRemington 2 жыл бұрын
It’s an evolution cold cut blade in an abrasive saw. It’s kind of an experiment to see how long it will last. You’re not supposed to put this blade in a abrasive saw because it spins too fast for the blade. But what I’ve been doing is as soon as I press the trigger I start cutting immediately so that the blade doesn’t have time to get to full speed before cutting. If you let it spin up before cutting it will dull extremely fast. It has worked really well so far! I’ve done tones of cuts with it. Thick and thin! I really need to get the evolution saw so that it spins at the proper speed. It would make that blade last way longer.

@@PatrickRemington I will give this a go... the abrasive blades create such a mess!
@PatrickRemington
@PatrickRemington 2 жыл бұрын
@@FlipmediaTV I agree! Just don’t let it get up to speed!! Haha You’ve been warned. Also don’t try and buy a speed controller for the saw. It did that to try and slow it down but I made the saw way under powered and eventually broke the speed controller so don’t waste your money there!
