These were for a friends shop to replace an aging set that took up more room. All the lumber was from trees local to within a couple miles and milled either on his circular mill or another friends bandsaw mill. I put this video together in the middle of last summer before I was posting anything on the channel and I figured i'd put it up now before it gets too far back in the pile.
Thanks as always for tuning in and we'll see you next week:-)

A deep sense of satisfaction just watching you layout and then meticulously yet effortlessly cut out the constituent parts and then assmble the bespoke stairs. Thanks.

I dislike this algorithm mess. I consider myself a faithful watcher. Especially the shorter videos (sometimes don't have the time for the hour long ones). I've had like 3 a day showup in my feed over the last week or so and they're month or older. Makes me feel like a slacker

Man that's frustrating, I saw this last night and assumed it was in regards to the folly barn video I just posted and then this morning I realized it was for the simple stairs so it makes more sense. It's frustrating on this side too and really hard to gauge when and why one video rips while another one will idle. I do appreicate you keeping up with all of it though Jimmy. Every view helps:-)

Really liked how you finished cutting out the treads/risers on the stringers with a handsaw. Have seen stringers crack and fail because someone overcut them with a circular saw instead of taking the time to finish them without overcutting. Anyway, stairs turned out great.

Thanks George, I try to keep the appearance grade stuff a little cleaner so handsaw it is:-)

I was taught stair have a magic number, 18 total, 7+11 (rise/run) plus or minus the situation LOL. Neat the wood was local, it looked clear!! Very nice!! Will we see the standing seam copper project, in the future! Good job Jake!

You will see it Robert! It's a huge file but i'll have to go thru it at some point once everything slows down a little:-)

I see that you upgraded the fence for your Rigid table saw. The original fence is almost useless. It looks like you made it yourself. If any of your viewers know where I can get a much better fence for my Rigid table saw, I would appreciate it.

The fence comes with the saw table. It's made by Rousseau. I just keep modifying different saws to fit in the same table. I sort of keep a constant lookout for another setup on Craigslist because i'd like a set i could just use at home. They pop up every once in a while.

If you have any video of putting together the copper clad roof/lantern shown in the background of this one I'd love to see it go together.

I have a huge pile of footage to work on but not a ton of time right now. It will be a multi part series at some point though for sure:-)

Local timber, locally milled and fabricated. Low carbon footprint on this simple but effective build for a friend. I'm sure we got a glimpse of that copper hood / roof in an earlier video. I'm guessing it's installed by now, fingers crossed that is the subject one of your future videos? :)

Yeah Paul, I think it showed up in the guard rail video. It happened about the same time I guess. It is installed and the construction will be a series at some point but It will probably wait until it's all done so they can be released consecutively which seems to track better momentum wise.

Didn’t recognize you with your seasonal clothing change, no rain suit. Your shop must be near a freeway.

It was like a flashback to the good old days which are just around the corner again. Yeah, I'm right next to one of the main roads to the coast, quite rural but lots of traffic. Its more like the wind in the trees than it is road noise after a while. I can almost tell you the time of day and the day of the week just from hearing a few seconds of it:-)

Not that the steps would have reached that high without the retaining wall

I assumed the pre-built stairs were for your upper level container storage, but after you strapped them to your truck, I was wrong?
