Top tip doing it with a gas torch is wrap some silver foil around it a 2 or 3 layers is plenty, stops any heat burns.

After destroying top tip, I saw your msg or trick 😅

Good stuff. Using the Driver head to remove adapter was the step I was missing. Cheers mate!

Saved me from buying a puller. Came off very easy with a heat gun, thank you!

Hi . The tork screw snapped in the adaptor on m4 .. can the adaptor be removed when the screw is still in the adaptor..thanks
@U2binator3 жыл бұрын
Honestly I'm not sure, but if you can't, depending on the size of the torque screw you could probably drill it out and then get the adapter off. And then buy a new torque screw

I tried this last night and the damn thing is on tight haha i was using a heat gun but im use a torch tonight

Is it possible to remove the screw within the driver head? My screw is .25mm too small for the shaft I got and I’d rather change it than change tips if possible..
@U2binator2 жыл бұрын
That's a good question, you might search KZbin for how to remove the screw, you may have to drill it out.

@@U2binator yeah I’ve had a look and found nothing! Guna have to just swap the tips over from my old shaft to the new one. Weird how some driver adapter kits come with new screws and washers so no idea but oh well! Thanks for the reply and the informative video! Hopefully I don’t cock it up lol

I don’t have any sort of a setup in my garage but I have a rubber clamp and can use a torch…can I get the same result? I just want to remove a TM sleeve off this shaft and install a Callaway sleeve…
@U2binator Жыл бұрын
I don't see why not, your setup sounds better than mine 😃

Never a heat gun..5 seconds per side with the torch

Can't you screw the clubhead partially onto the adapter and pull?
@U2binator2 жыл бұрын
That's what I did basically, the glue literally had no force left at all so you can pull, twist, whatever.
@mariad7502 жыл бұрын
Yes, put a washer on the tip screw and pull on the washer. Ideal if you want to save the shaft and not twist loose the graphite fibres.

Do you have a trick for removing the adaptor on M series? They have a plastic casing on them that melts when heated.
@U2binator3 жыл бұрын
I don't. Are you sure it's plastic?
@paulkellygolf3 жыл бұрын
@@U2binator absolutely. I've done numerous ones the past year. The top of the adaptor has a plastic casing that indicates the settings. When you apply even a little heat it melts. The adaptor is still perfectly functional but doesn't show the settings and looks unfinished.
@matt7iron9 ай бұрын
@@paulkellygolf yep mines isn't metal like the old days now it's hard plastic and melts, I'm gonna broil some hot water and let the water sit for a minute then stick the tip of the adapter into the water to cover only the adapter, I'm doing it today.

Could you use a gas cooker flame instead of a torch?
@U2binator2 жыл бұрын
Possibly, I think they are around the same temperature.
@davidmacdonald80219 ай бұрын
Yes I used the gas hob method to remove a putter head. Heated it, stood on the putter head, pulled it out.

What kind of glue do you use to the shaft adaptor

It's a special Adapter adhesive that's very inexpensive... www.golfworks.com/the-golfworks-adaptor-adhesive/p/vb1030/

Does the torch ruin the adapter at all?
@U2binator2 жыл бұрын
I wasn't trying to save the adapter buy it could possibly yes, be careful, one person commented you could wrap it in aluminum foil prior to heating to help, you could try that.
@charlesfitzgerald32012 жыл бұрын
i just tried it and i used a torch not a heat gun and worked great ,, i was very carefull to not burn the shaft and was able to save the ferrul ,, heating only took 20 seconds ,,, pulled it off with plyers , no shaft damage , new adapter for different driver ,, done deal
@silkysteve25a2 ай бұрын
Surely twisting the head off is damaging the shaft!!

Dude those are pliers. But helpful vid otherwise lol
