No, unless required... There are some tools that can help in redrawing- Pen tool Clone stamp Line tool Smudge tool Lasso/rectangular marquee tool (you can use content aware fill, that's a time saver) The person who was typesetting and redrawing here used brush tool to draw the lines for fingers, and necklace, but pen tool can also be used, it gives more defined lines than the brush tool, and you can adjust the curves as well, unless you're a pro with the brush tool.

thanks for this vid. i was planning to apply in a scanlation team, but one of their requirements was to be experienced in Photoshop, and at that time I was only experienced in gimp. a lot of people said it was pretty basic but a good start (in retrospect, yeah, gimp is pretty much inferior to Ps) but this video alone had told me what i needed to know. regarding that scan team, i said i *was* gonna enter but i decided to be an individual scanlator (also because of this video; and i was never really suited in a team anyway.) and i have received many compliments over the few months ive been scanlating. thank you for this vid, this help me grew up to the independence i have in myself now (yes, even if it's a simple tutorial. things have impact).

A tip here Tip1 In Cleaning you must copy the background layer. If in some case you'll make a mistake and Copying the BG Layer is also recommended so you can turn it off and on to see the difference. Tip 2 Do or add adjustment layers which can be found below the LAYER tab Hover on it to know If It's the adjustment Tap on it and a pop up tab will appear, tap on levels from the pop up tab then It will add an adjustment Layer Tap the Level Adjustment Layer and click on properties on the top left Move the arrow to the white part Then you'll see that the part you just patch tooled (normal patch) wasn't right. It also help on those sky Backgrounds on a manhwa

There's a different tho. Normal patch on Patch tool doesn't clean sky Backgrounds well. I was studying PS for long now that I've notice weird things when I add an adjustment Layer

this is really good tut i can tell btw there's another way too for replace the area that had text use content aware fill (shift+f5 shortcut) or in 2020 version there is a more advance feature in edit-》content aware fill (there is dedicated option) tip: if you have low end pc and you are using older version of photoshop i recommend you to change to latest version its highly optimised

You dont have to know Chinese. The translators send it to you in a word file then you just pit it in.

The only issue i have is when i do the typesetting. i don't know how big to make the letters in the textbox. they sont look bad but then im told they're too big. do you have any advice on how to choose the correct size?

the thing with typesetters is that they have a good eye for these things. i cant tell you how big your texts should be because of course they differ in every box, but what i *can* say is that you should leave an equal amount of space on the left and right sides of the text with each other, and you should leave and equal amount of space on the top and bottom of the text with each other. if you dont understand what i just said, then maybe i can also say you should just zoom out until you see the whole layout of the page and see if your text stands out too much or is a little odd (and you can compare with the original, untranslated text). hope this helped in some way :)
