The vinegar mixture really dulls the pennies. I'm doing a countertop with 7000 pennies and I sure don't have time to buff each coin. I throw my pennies in a liter of Coca Cola and into my ultrasonic cleaner. Then I let sit overnite in a fresh jar of Coke for a very nice shine. Anything that I've found that cleans as fast as the vinegar solution almost always leaves the coins with no shine

It's probably the sodium bicarbonate in your Coca Cola that's cleaning your coins. You might as well just get some Sodium Bicarbonate baking soda and put that in water, and soak your coins in that. You'll save money and won't look so much like a fruitcake. You can clear the battery posts on your car battery with coke or any other carbonated drink because the sodium bicarbonate in the sodas that is doing the cleaning. There, my work here is done. Off to the next internet adventure. EDIT: And I did this one without the help of my superhero costume and cape. ..
