I love this way of knitting! It’s so much faster and not too much turning which is good for my wrists. Thank you for knitting this way. This is why I love all your videos and techniques 🥰

Why are you the only one ive seen that knits like me. I was starting to think i was knitting wrong.😅

Joanne, you are definitely not alone :-) This knitting style is called Eastern (also Russian) knitting, and it is one of the easiest and most efficient ways to knit. Happy knitting, my friend!

This is the way I was thought to knit by my mom. Then I came to know that it's called combination knitting

I am really confused. I have knitted this way for years, but it's all been super simple straightforward items...blankets, etc. I watched another video where the gal explained that by purling this way, the stitches are being twisted. And then I realized I've been knitting in the back loop, not the front loop. Now, as I'm ready to tackle cables, increases, decreases, etc., I'm concerned that I'll end up with a knitted mess. 😢 Am I worried about nothing? Or do I need to change how I knit when I'm not creating a rib?
@10rowsaday10 ай бұрын
It is not only about the way you knit stitches, it also matters how you purl them. If you purl stitches as demonstrated at www.10rowsaday.com/russian-purl-stitch that means that you use the Eastern knitting style. You can make cables without making any adjustments, but the slant of the decreases that you make will be different from the ones in classic knitting. For example, if you "knit 2 together" using Eastern knitting style, you will make a left-leaning decrease, while in classic knitting, this decrease will slant to the right. I explained this and other peculiarities of Easter knitting in an online course. You can take it at www.10rowsaday.com/eastern-knitting Happy knitting, my friend!

I feel like I need a video of the opposite of this because I don't understand what this is correcting. This is just how I knit but my edges and rows are not as neat as this.

Same... I thought the difference between k and p was the leg you used AND yarn in back or front
@10rowsaday11 ай бұрын
You are right - the difference is in the leg we use to knit or purl a stitch. As a result, we form a neater rib fabric. For more details about this method, go to www.10rowsaday.com/tighter-ribbing

I’m not sure if I’m missing something, but this looks like the way I normally knit which is Russian knitting. Is this just Russian knitting or did I miss something?
@10rowsaday2 жыл бұрын
Yes, ribbing has a much neater look when we make it using the Eastern (Russian) knitting style.
