Thanks for detailing what to do with our arms. I take group lessons, and I've gotten what I thought were mixed messages about how to hold my arms. But maybe it was b/c I had changed edges. I will have to practice to this video several more times.

Arms can definitely get confusing. As you say there’s no one rule. If in doubt I’d recommend going with a square should that way will help with most skills.

Keep up the great work! I recall you saying new skates might need an adjustment. Should I go to a skate shop for assistance? I’m overthinking over here as I do not have a baseline for comparing.

I'm not as knowledgeable as Katie so hopefully she answers but I just loosened my trucks to the point where the wheels will roll for a good bit without stopping. If you take your skate in your hand and spin the wheels with your other hand they may roll and then stop very quickly. This means your trucks are very tight and skating will be more stiff and difficult than it needs to be. Loosen them to the point the wheels will roll without stopping for a good bit. You can always loosen them more so just start small :)

Thank you. Yes. Often news skates a bit of adjustment. Make sure the wheels are rolling, if they’re not then loosen the nuts a little. You can also check the trucks have movement.

😂 camera man definitely needs to get some skates on! He did consider a hover board! 😂. He used a gimble that makes the camera kind of float it’s all very clever. I just stick to skating, much easier.

i have been experimenting with changing components. I have discovered that most of the parts on a £100 or less pair of skates appear to be substandard and cheap. This makes skills much more challenging. By simply changing the Bushings, everything is so much easier. Bubbles can be done with so much less effort. Wheels have a major difference, depending on the surface you are skating on. It can be quite tiring using the wrong components. I am yet to try 45 degree plates…. last mod to go i guess

I love the rollerbones elite but they are 101a so pretty slick but they do coke on white. The Suregrip fame are good too I’m not sure if they come in white.
