I bought one of these a couple of years ago. It was a refurb and the only thing I changed was the SDD. I upgraded the NVMe 256 to a 1TB. I LOVE this computer!!! I bought it for when I travel, but it has replaced my 2012 MBP as my main machine when I'm not at home. I probably over work this little thing more than I should, but it does a great job keeping up. I highly recommend.

Hi :) I'm thinking about getting one just for writing. I understand it doesn't work with pages, but I'm wondering if it still works with google docs. Also, I'm curious about the battery. Is that still going strong or did you need to replace it? I'd rather have one of these than a new notebook of the same price. My son got a cheapo pc notebook and the thing was just horrendous because of the OS. I'd rather have an old macos than a windows box.

@@splatterdaynightmares Hey. You're probably already done with deciding, but for a little input, Google Docs works perfectly. Most apps that you access on the web / through a browser should work completely alright, as they still do on my Macbook Air 2011 (so they should work more than fine with a 2015). For the battery, in 2023, numerous people are getting to a point where their 2015 laptop's reaching 1000+ cycle count, definitely requiring replacing. So if you buy one for writing and want a reliable battery, just get it replaced as these 2015 Macbooks are old enough where a replacement is needed: thankfully though, 2015s are easier to replace the batteries on than newer Macbooks.

I have one and still use it daily. It has been a great work horse that is still able to do almost everything I need it to. I use a mac mini as my main computer for work but this is still great for a portable option. 😅

Bought one of these on eBay last week for $220 8GB 128SSD 11 inch and so far I'm enjoying it. I replaced a 2012 MacBook Pro and wanted to try something lighter. It is refurbished, but in really good condition (pretty much untouched) and as long as it lasts longs and performs well, I'm happy with it.

After a couple Macbooks (Macbook pro late 2011, Macbook air M1 and a Macbook air 2015 all 13 inch) i definitiv love the air 2015, and the 2015 air is in the year 2023 a good budget macbook thats not too old and i use mine more than my M1, bc u can get one in Germany for around 300€ and its have USB ports and magsafe. Sorry for not perfect english its not my Nativ Language.

I just retired my 15" 2011 Macbook Pro running Mac OS Sierra (Can't update because of a hardware mod to bypass the dead GPU). It was starting to get too old and outdated to continue getting updates for the apps I use. I've replaced it with a 2017 Macbook Air that I picked up for $200. I'm very pleased that it can run Monterey natively and Ventura with a patch. I expect being able to get three or four years out of it with no issues. I like that the SSD and battery can be replaced pretty easily, too.

I have mine since late 2016 and has survived secondary school and university's dissertations and doing basic programming on R studios. It is surprising robust and has great longevity for its age. I don't game on it all it does are web browser based and microsoft based.

I bought mine back in 2015, when I went to college. I’m going to grad school this fall, and will still be using it! I changed the storage to 1TB and Apple will be changing the battery to a new one next week! It’s worth it in my opinion. I won’t be purchasing a new laptop until this one gives out on me.

Well, it is always a good idea to have two laptops. One dirt cheap laptop for writing and taking with you to the library you would not care it being stolen or broken. a laptop that would not encourage you waste your time with being unproductive through its worse screen and laggy entertainment distraction capabilities. Another laptop for more fancy work, like an M1+ laptop as you have mentioned here. This laptop costs as little as 100 USD. Why on Earth would you not buy one?

I have a 2015 macbook air with a pretty sad dual core i5. Since Apple no longer supports this, I just put Windows 10 on it to use it for websurfing and a security camera server. It actually feels pretty 'snappy'. I will say will be our last Mac computer since Apple claims to be a 'green' company but discontinues support after 5-7 years to force consumers to buy the latest and greatest. I am aware there are 'workarounds' to put the latest Mac OS on it and from what I've seen, older Intel based Macs run JUST FINE with it. There is no other reason for Apple not supporting this hardware, other than greed.

Such a great a great video. Just got a refurbished one in the mail, but it has no new software update on it (High sierra). Don’t have a clue how to bring it up to current, as they say you’re not supposed to try to skip any. 😣 You’re right about the display. If you’re used to looking at new iPad, iPhone…you’re going to be shocked by the old fashioned pixels.😮 Even though it’s not hooked to my iCloud, it still has my name in it which is at that front page when you hit the start button. I bought two at our local PC Warehouse...in perfect cosmetic and operational condition, with "low mileage" batteries, for...are you ready? $79 i5 4Gb RAM and $129 i5 8Gb RAM. Yes, I scored two perfectly functional MacBook Airs for just a bit under $220. The first is running BigSur, the second is running Monterey.
