In 2025, Air Canada will fly passenger Boeing 767s again. We emphasize PASSENGER flights because the airline has already been using the type for cargo flights. It’s also notable that the Star Alliance member had leased an Omni Air International passenger 767 in June/July 2024, continuing what it did in 2019, 2020, and 2023.
However, Air Canada will return to using its own passenger 767s for the first time since 2020, when Rouge also ceased flying the aging, but beloved, widebody type. It helps Air Canada that the jets are already paid off, although this is counterbalanced by higher fuel consumption and maintenance requirements. Nonetheless, we examine where exactly the airline plans to deploy these aircraft once they re-enter service!
