Honestly there could have been way worse places for the hydraulics to fall out of that truck. At least there it's kind of tucked away and not dead centre on your drive or in the road. And like you said, the filter was already down to the ground by that point so...timing wise that was pretty solid even if the overall situation is less than stellar

As they say - - it happens at the worse time. Heat here On lake Whitney TX, for the last three days 101 to 103 with heat index 112-116. Damn humidity sucks lol. Good luck with the sand filter installation. I am sure there is more to come about that. God Bless in all things.

After 4 years of adding softness, an e change pump that was really expensive, nothing was helping our water was red and thick like tomato juice. We had another well dug. It's crystal clear now

Hey Mel n Gary, like others have said: no one was injured n the concrete sand filter wasn't damaged. Most builds have a couple of "Roller Coaster Days", yes, a small setback today, but the DIY progress both of you have made is something to be very proud of. Someday you will be chillin on your deck drinkin your fav beverages n laughin at those Roller Coaster Days with the grandkids ! Nuttin like framily.

Why did 3 men show up in the morning and only one showed up later? That PTO took a beating. I got wore out watching the guy going back and forth between the cab and the filter. If " Ole Boy" would have had his help he'd of stabbed it from the shit go. Without Anthony and Gary , it wouldn't have gotten that far. I love this channel. First time I ever commented on it. I've binged SLR and CRC. I follow most of the FRAMILY .. Imagine , neighbours caring and watching out for each other...I wished I was a part of it. God Bless all of ya.

Hi Mel & Gary!! WOW what a day!! Sorry you didn’t get your sand filter in yet but this was a great video. It’s been one thing after another trying to get that in the ground. I never would have guessed that a part falling off the bottom of the truck was what halted work today though. I’m wondering if they have another truck that can finish the job or do you have to wait until they get that one fixed? Stay safe and hydrated in this awful heatwave. 💜

Greetings from Northeast. Our first well was very nasty and we were told we need at all kinds of equipment to make it drinkable. Long story short, we decided to dig deeper. I think we ended up going to 260 feet and we have wonderful water. I would dig another well or case that well off and go deeper

we had that same water problem when I was a kid in Perry Co....to keep my white nursing uniforms white I had to use the old fashioned bluing....I don't understand just how sand could take the iron out of the water.....but you learn something new every day;

I got too hot going to the grocery store at 1pm, I got so sick....I promised myself from now until October I will get up and be at any store as soon as it opens to try to beat the heat....I had to drink a lot of water with electrolytes to recover....know you guys will get it all done, as the Universe sees fit.....can't keep swimming up river....will pray that things will straighten out for y'all

I was @ 16:00 and had so much anxiety I didn't want to watch. I will be right back after I cook me some Beer Brats and Mild Cheddar cheese wraps. I'm back. That could have been worse. Yea the pump fell off the truck, but at least your filter is intact. Get some duct tape and bondo and the truck will be back to the way it was. I was wondering if anything on the truck was checked when the front left tire blew and ripped off part of the fender. Was the truck loaded and was the pump mount damaged? The way to avoid total system failure is by monitoring your pumps and looking for the following warning signs. Interior Leaks. Liquids should remain in the tubes that were designed for them Exterior Leaks Heat Degradation Water Contamination. Failing Seals. Slow Performance Loose Mounting Hardware The whole truck is a dry dirty but all around the pump is wet. Of all the truck I see with PTO pumps, Internationals fail more than any other.

Realistically you guys did a bang up job of sharing a slice of what the real world of off grid living is truly like. No special editing out mishaps or goof ups but real non-glamorous experiences. That is life. Now picking yourselves up and doing whatever you can and not letting this get you down....THAT is what life is really about. Moving forward no matter what is thrown at you. When we had our well dug we were told you hit water at 150 feet but the water is no good have to keep drilling we went 350 feet best water ever!
