I’m guessing you’ve wrapped up this channel now. Thanks for the videos. They’re gold dust for people interested in Norway and the Norwegian language. Keep my fingers crossed you’ll come back!
@FrozenMermaid666
@FrozenMermaid666 Жыл бұрын
The words rains and gold only reflect me the only Goddess / Lady / Queen / Princess / Star etc, and cannot be in someone’s name or yt name or comments etc, and the special name Tom only reflects my pure protectors aka the alphas, and must be changed! Most of the videos are helpful, but in some of them there is big term misuse and some very ofsv contents, but luckily most of it is just normal words and normal images!
@FrozenMermaid666
@FrozenMermaid666 Жыл бұрын
I’ve been learning Norwegian for a few months now, and I memorized almost all the words in the first 30 videos, and I need to memorize the rest of them because there are always some words that need to be repeated more! But I can even understand a lot of written Danish now, because it is so similar to written Norwegian! And I can understand about 80% of the words in many of the videos where they ask people random questions! I think I can reach a higher level in Norwegian soon, that would be close to my level in Dutch! Most Norwegian words are so pretty!
@FrozenMermaid666
@FrozenMermaid666 Жыл бұрын
The most difficult is, trying to figure out which nouns are neutral and which are feminine, without having to check that for every single word, but even the Google translator doesn’t show if certain words are feminine and shows them usually with the en article, even the ones that are feminine, so there should have been some lists that show the 3 grammatical genders for every noun, and the other 3 forms of the noun, because some of them have different endings if they end in certain vowels or certain letters! I also learned that there are two types of Norwegian, so it would have also been nice to have a list that contains all the differences between the two, because I just assumed that most words are spelled the same way, and only some of them have a different spelling or use a different word, so a list that only contained the words that are different in Bokmål / Nynorsk would have been nice! For example, på grunn av / grunna / grunnet!
@FrozenMermaid666
@FrozenMermaid666 Жыл бұрын
And, it would have also been nice to have a list of all the different words between dialects, like, maybe in some dialects they use a different word for certain items or use certain words with a different meaning etc! I’m not sure how different Norwegian dialects are, or if they are as different as Dutch dialects that are a different language technically (for example, Dutch and Limburgish dialect, which is a different language that sounds more like German and like a mix of two) so, with such dialects, I must basically learn a whole different language! But I assumed most dialects in Norway aren’t that different, and maybe they only have some different words only, and a different accent!
@FrozenMermaid666
@FrozenMermaid666 Жыл бұрын
When I learn a new language, I also try learning all the different dialect terms and meanings etc! Dutch and Norwegian are the easiest languages to learn, esp for an English speaker, and also Swedish, but Dutch and Norwegian definitely have the easiest spelling and pronunciation! And, I use all 3 articles in Norwegian, except for a few words, such as kake (I use en for kake and kaken) but, still, it’s still kind of similar sounding to the word for doo-doo (even the English word cake looks similar to it esp in spelling) and, when I think about the fact that in Dutch, they call the 🚽 a kakhuis, it makes me not want to use that word at all (because doo-doo related terms should never sound similar to a food related term) so, now I can never look at the word cake / kake the same way again! For almost all other words that are feminine, I use the EI article! So if anyone has a list or knows if there are lists of Norwegian nouns that show which nouns are feminine and neutral, or knows any videos that show such lists of nouns, one should definitely let me know!

My son was born in Trondheim and we lived there for 7 years while I was going my PhD, postdoc and such. Now we have moved back to Brazil 🇧🇷 and have been living here for 1.5 years. He misses his hometown, although not having to deal with the long, windy and dark winters, and have a lot of sunny days here in Rio. Very nice to watch this video and reflect on the extreme differences now on January during the summer in Rio de Janeiro! Ironically what I miss the most is the summer in Trondheim, I think it's actually better than in the tropics.

Thanks for your videos. Norway is my favorite European country and I relate to it quite a bit. We're hard core skiers and a strong outdoor family. So it was good to see some of the lifestyle there. Although, I'm not a big city fan. I prefer the country more, but this is good parts of the country to see too. Hopefully we'll get to Norway someday, which would make my efforts to learn Norge really pay off. The cold doesn't bother me much. I've lived for years in places where it can get down to -70f for 3 months. So the cold Temps are not a big deal to us. The good thing about the cold is that you can always put on layers to get warm...as opposed to the heat, you can't escape it much unless you can get into AC.
