Ah yes, French - the language of love, France - the land of romance, Paris - the city of love. They do have a very romantic, refined and fancy language.

This is such a good video both for general interest and so helpful b/c of subtitles as I'm trying to learn Norwegian. I identified with many of the 'taboos' and find what's talked about with one person/group maybe different with others. I never talked personal life with family-UK, (parental-old-person reticence/prudishness) and tread very carefully with (strangers and friends) re. sex, politics, religion. Canada - people are more open and I was shocked initially at this openess.

I love most Norwegian food, but geitost is freakin' evil. Chalk and peanut butter had a baby which was then fermented in the stinkhole of a rodent.

What do Norwegians pay for rent? In the USA most of the salary goes to rent, in big cities. That alone creates stress.

How many dialects exist in the Norwegian language?
@이십삼번29 күн бұрын
it funny to watch this as a German because you can see some resemblance in the pronunciation and some words and also I think some more words we use only in spoken german probably originate in Scandinavian languages I guess like for example we sometimes say the word for pants similar to the Norwegian word but I don't even know how to write it in German xD

This has me wondering about the role of accents. I just started learning Norwegian a few days ago, and I recognize some of these from the app I'm using. But some of them are pronounced differently here. I wonder how much of the pronunciation is softened/simplified when spoken in real life, compared to the supposed pronunciation given by my app, and how much may just be a difference in accent between speakers.
