As someone who's been on both sides of an interview many times, I thought these were mostly very helpful. With the exception of the one person mentioning that it was a negative to ask about pay, vacation, and weekends. What in the actual hell, lady?! You can be extremely passionate about a job, but you still should expect to get paid well. Also, when I apply to 5-6 places, and it's between 2 equally wonderful locations, you can bet I'm picking based on pay and vacation time. If that question is a turn off for you, be prepared for less than stellar employees.

I agree. Wage and vacation time and working weekends plays a huge role in work life balance. If a manager thinks asking about that is a red flag, then that’s probably not a manager I would want to work for anyway.

Yes! I'm a compassionate and hard working individual but pay and benefits does matter to a certain level. If not, tell me why I should work for you? It goes both ways.

Can’t believe the one saying a terrible interview is one who asks about vacation time and PTO. We don’t live to work, lady

Most units are so desperate now, if you have a pulse they will hire you. Be aware of red flags such as managers who insult current employees, and be sure to ask about work/life balance.

If asking about pay, weekends, and leave benefits uoset the interviewer, you do NOT want that job.

Anybody will be hired, even in specialty units. Ideally, this is the hiring process, but we ARE DESPERATE FOR HELP!!! ...There are several FILIPINO nurses in this video. Great video though as always!

Right, I had been trying for YEARS to get into Maternal child health, and now with the shortage I was able to easily get an interview, which didn't even feel like an interview, it was more like a laid back chat with the nurse manager... I got the job, I am an experienced nurse, but without previous Mat/Child health experience. I was bummed though, 5 months in I realized it wasn't for me!! The point is, you really don't have to try all that hard currently to get a job...

Hello Nurse Mike, Question: Is around 35-40 minutes still a good length? The recruiters really seemed to like my answers a lot, there were 3 people interviewing me. I'm applying for a nurse RN job at a hospital, this is specifically for a new grad RN training program opportunity. 🙏🙏🙏 After the interview the recruiter asked if i had any questions, and she gave me her buisiness card if i had any questions and said that i should expect a phone call by next week (if im chosen). They really liked my answers to their clinical based questions and nodded their heads and smiled, we laughed a few times too, i wanted to be down-to-earth yet corgial, i was very enthusiatic with them and smiled. I saw them take lots of notes when i replied with my answers, and when i answered certain ones right they said "good 👍". Please let me know your input. 🙏🙏 Also wanted to mentioned, they really liked my resume, and when i submitted my application they called me within 4 hours to schedule an interview. Does this mean anything? I have 8 years of healthcare experience and worked as a CNA and LVN, now applying for an RN role. Also they did say "if you were hired for this role, what would you expect to gain from this position?" And they asked what shifts I would be interested in Day or Night. I said, "im good with either or, im good with what you guys need me for , ive worked AM, PM, and graveyard". I kinda goofed on one question, but hopefully that doesnt make or break me out of all the questions they asked me. They did mention "if you are chosen for this position, what would you expect to gain if you are hired here?" Is that bad or good? 😅 They really liked my answer when i said i want to gain RN experience, become a great nurse leader, develop quick thinking skills, learn more ways to advocate for my patients. I would greatly appreciate your input on the above please. 🙏🙏🙏

4:27 RED FLAG!!! 🚩 That translates to: we are typically short staffed, we have high turn over, and we want people who are okay being over worked and under paid, and we hire new grads because we can’t exploit seasoned nurses with horrible patient-staff ratios the same way we can take advantage of a new grad who may not know any better! RUN!

I didn't get the job. No I am not worried but it was a nice position on a small unit. I think its because i said i was not leaving my current job. Oh well. It just slipped out when I was asked.
