Reid is 29. Schizophrenia is genetic and usually presents in a person's 20s. He has lived with that possibility all his life. It's a very scary age for him and having these symptoms and the doctor telling him that there's nothing wrong physically is hard for him to accept.

I’m still surprised that this is one of these shows not that many KZbin channels react to it for some reason
@dead9071 Жыл бұрын
it might have something to do with copyright
@sophiedophie Жыл бұрын
@@dead9071 I didn’t think about that and some KZbin channels find a way around the copyright with whatever show they react to

I would assume people don't react to shows like this because of its episodic format. Majority of the episodes are capable of standing alone without needing to have watched prior episodes. For the most part they have a predictable structure and are less character driven. And even tho criminal minds has story arcs for each of its character where we get a glimpse of their past/struggles or their personal relationships its always primarily about the cases/crimes.
@sophiedophie Жыл бұрын
@@Lrodpotato I thought people would like watching shows with a episodic format though there has been episodes of shows where it is either a filler or a bottle episode but somehow connects to the main storyline which criminal minds has done perfectly

@@sophiedophieI personally love shows like this. Between CM, SVU, House M.D, The Good Wife, Suits, The Mentalist etc I could go on forever. I primarily think it's about the audience, shows like this people don't really talk about them even tho alot of people watch it. It's like behind that scenes almost everyone has watched atleast a handful of episodes or majority of it or like me all of it but nobody discusses it like we do about premium television shows on HBO or your pick of any CW show or Animes. 🤷🏻♀️

This episode is always an interesting watch for me. I'm Cuban American and live in Miami, Florida, my parents for the most part are catholics but many in my family practice and believe in Santeria. Which is essentially a mixture of an african religion called Yoruba and Catholism as well as some other beliefs. My mother like some of the practioners in the show has her own Elegua "the saint of crossroads" whom she feeds sweets to because apparently thats what he likes. Altho I personally do not believe in it nor do I practice it, I have personally witnessed numerous times during my childhood and adulthood family members sacrificing animals for their saints as well as cleansings and other rituals. Seeing them spout words in Lucumi like they're almost possessed. To this day I still feel creeped out by it, its something I don't mess with at all. Many consider it to be satanic in nature and I don't disagree one bit. It never fails to bring a shiver down my spine. 😖
@hunnysenpai7249 Жыл бұрын
I really don't consider it to be Satanic, it's almost like hoodoo and paganism. As long as the person who does is knows what they're doing and has good intentions, then it's not like a Satanic sacrifice which is for the devil
@Lrodpotato Жыл бұрын
@hunnysenpai7249 Of course not. What I meant it that it "appears" satanic in nature to an outsider's perspective due to the animal sacrifices. No one is my family ever taught me Santeria nor explained it, everything I know about it is only from what I've seen/overheard or read about it out of curiosity so I'm no different than an outsider looking in. As a kid, I was scared to even look at any saint, much less touch something in the vicinity or even put an offering down. In other words, everything about it just feels wrong to me. However, like you said it's like Paganism, hence why it appears bad to others even though it's not any different really than any other religion. My mind just doesn't reconcilate this fact.

Trust me any religion that your not use 2 can look scary but santeria isnt evil unless its perverted. My grandparents were worshippers and I did a few rituals in my youth I kind of fell out of it when I hit high school but I still have members that do it

I’m from Florida and I don’t know if we have the death penalty 😂😂😂 Reid always Reid this episode no matter how many times I’ve watch it it’s so hard for me anything related to religion is like foreign to me. I remember the first time I watched it I was so confused by what what’s happening to Reid.

(SPOILER about Reid) I read somewhere that they wrote this in because Reid was going to be killed off. They were gonna give him a tumor or something like that because Matthew wanted to leave the show.. Not 100% sure I just remember hearing it somewhere.
