Found this channel just a few weeks after starting my caro/slav journey. Couldn't ask for a better series. Very informative 😁

Glad I found this, you are really straight forward, instructive and explain your calculations with refreshing clarity. Got my first win with the Caro-Kann immediately after watching your rating climb, it’s now my go to response to e4. Keep ‘em coming.

Wait ! Why is it that when I search for some good videos on an opening I want to play I always find Alex covering it ? How is it possible ? Heaven is taking care of poor little me, that is the only explanation. Thank you, universe.

Is Semi-Slav superior to Slav? Many GMs have recently only created semi-Slav courses. Why?
@darkenedblade2585 Жыл бұрын
Semi Slav is one of the best openings against d4 for advanced over the board players. It’s probably fine for online games but there are lines with lots of theory, which is what the Chessable courses are for. In this video, we see semi slav structures with the pawn triangle but avoid the theory.

I thought that taking the bishop out like you did in the first game is dangerous because there are some tricks with queen b3. Eric Rosen and Danya explain it. I may be wrong

If cxd5-Qb3, I go Nc6-Qxb7-Bd7-Bf4-e5!? as an interesting gambit that works well online. If Qb3 right away, I go Qb6-c5-Qc7-Bf4-Qc8 and those positions are pretty solid.

It's fun how you always say "super natural." In English, supernatural means, much much more than natural - magical. So I keep looking for magical moves when you play "very natural" moves.
@StygianStyle Жыл бұрын
supernatural means things from beyond the natural world such as ghosts, angels, demons, etc.

Heheh I just made a similar comment. He is saying "super natural", not "supernatural". Confusing, I know.
