Simplest Drum Sander Machine

This video inspired me to start making a 24 inch drum sander/thicknesses of my own. Already got the electric motor and everything I need. Now I gotta put it together.

This is about as simple as it could get. Thanks for taking the time. I am going to build one just like it but I will include a dedicated motor rather than a drill. Considering you used nothing but a bunch of scraps, it looks like it would work very well. Now, if you can figure out a self-feed mechanism, it will be perfect. Thanks again. And for all the folks who spoke out against your creation, well, let's see what they can come up with.

Hi, grate proyect, I did the machine and it is shooting away the pieces i'm trying to pass through no matter the pressure or adjustment I set , does it has to do with the material of the sliding base?

Turn your drill rotation to reverse

I think it is not related to the sliding sole, but maybe you have put the wood in the same direction of rotation of the drum. Such wood will shoot out very dangerous

Podrías indicarme las medidas de las tablas. Indicar el número de los rodamientos, conque material hiciste las rueditas adonde se fijará la lija. Puedes dar la medida de las tuercas de empotrar? De qué grosor son las barras roscadas, en fin de todos los materiales ya que quiero tratar de hacer tu maquina

Not all people are comfortable speaking on video. With detailed video one is able to see clearly the build..just think a little what size you want. Think about it, sleep on it..then let you're creativity guide you to you're build. He's done the hard part excellently. If you can't follow..then suggest you buy one. Good luck either way 🥂
