6:25 sounds just like what my high school used for it's "end of period/block" sound. I remember messing around in typing class (Easy credit. Teacher let me do whatever) and making 4x440Hz tones in Audacity and then fading each one out at 1x1s. It sounded IDENTICAL. Well, about 5 minutes before class was up, I turned the volume all the way up and let 'er rip. Everyone started to leave and then someone said: "There's no one outside." Confusion ensued. Laughs were had. Another time, I used Audacity to emulate the N. American ringback signal. For some reason, the teacher thought that it was their desk phone ringing. :)

The discontinuous bell tone was the tornado warning tone for the elementary school I went to. It also played the continuous bell tone for fire drills.

To recreate a two-stage fire alarm: 2:43 would be the pre-alert tone, which would sound when a pull station is activated or the drill button was pushed. After three minutes, or when a smoke detector detects fire, then the system would go into full alarm, as in the tone at 3:06, and the message at 4:07.

I've seen one of those panels in the presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh pa it was a SIMPLEX 4100UES with the current version of the voice evacuation message and it went off for condition M alert but I don't know what condition M is my guess is the condition M alert is for medical emergency but I'm not sure. But it was cool to see and hear. The hospital is a part of UPMC witch I forgotten to mention.

The time at 5:31 makes a good voice evac message if you were to loop it.
@HeadsetGuy10 жыл бұрын
The high school I went to has an intercom and alarm system that must've been designed by Simplex (like the fire alarms). During a tornado drill one year, they used the more well-known Simplex voice evacuation (slow whoop, followed by the "Attention, attention, attention, an emergency has been reported," etc.), and during a code red (lockdown) drill the same year, they used something I had never heard before: a tone similar to the one at 3:06, followed by a voice message: "Attention, attention, attention. A code red has occurred. All occupants shall shelter in place and await further instructions. Do not enter or exit the building at this time." Then it repeated the message one more time, played the tone again, message twice, and so on until the drill was over.

Might have been a 4003EC

@HeadsetGuy10 жыл бұрын
Okay, I looked, and I don't think it was a 4003EC. I didn't see that message in there, and I'm pretty sure it wasn't a custom-recorded message.
@Rodj123419 жыл бұрын
Nvm what I said, it cannot be a 4003 (4003 AND 4003EC due to the emergency message, must be a voice bay on the panel (4010, 4010ES, 4100U, 4100ES). I'm pretty sure that was a message on the built in voice bay on that panel.
@MrTylerNicole12 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure if many voice panels have this. But one of my classmates who is sensitive to noise thinks during a fire drill, the panel should be programmed to play a “This is a test of the building fire alarm system. This is only a test” message or a drill message instead of the alert tone that precedes the attention message. Then when the drill is complete they can switch it back to one of the alert tones. But I don’t think it’s the best idea. If you want to know how to respond effectively in a fire, you have to become familiar with the warning tones so you know what it means in real life and how to respond correctly. That’s the purpose of a fire drill-becoming familiar with warning signals and knowing how to respond. Anybody else agree?

the Simplex 4003EC is basically a Wheelock Safepath but with simplex tones and messages. Not to many people have those panels since there not common. I would like to get my hands on one of those in the future. If not I can just buy a Safepath 4 and get some parts for the Simplex 4003EC (like tone generator and voice card) and make a make shift 4003EC.
