This was at the beginning of a fire inspection at a library. They have an older Simplex panel equipped with voice evacuation. The speaker/strobes & strobes are wheelock brand.

The 4100 slow whoop goes much higher and there’s a pause. The 4100U slow whoop is slightly lower pitch and it whoops continuously without a pause. But something interesting for Simplex systems is that it plays the message a few times but then continuously sounds the whoop tone. Most systems alternate continuously between message and tone.
@MrTylerNicole13 жыл бұрын
Yes, I would agree. Where I went to school, whenever we had a fire drill you would hear the whoop tone, then the message three times, alternating until our security staff went into the panel and silenced the alarms.
@alexandersalarms5380 Жыл бұрын
the 4100U has both whoops the fast one is , the fast one
@officialsimplexguy21 күн бұрын
You can program it to alternate between tone and message. By default, the script is 10 seconds of whoop, followed by the message 3 times, then whoop forever. There is an option to where it can play the whoop, then the message once, then it cycles

The 33-person Smith Family was staying at the Sheraton Chaseville/Santa Angela Piccadilly when at 12:58 AM, the fire alarm at the hotel went off. Cheryl: What's that noise? Caiden: Sound! Kyle: What is that? Evelyn: Can we go downstairs and find out? Mike: Sure. Ryder: If I were you, I will pull the fire alarm. Melanie: I'm going. Jessica: What in the name of God is going on at that hotel? Lizzie: Is this a good idea to trigger false alarms? Cheryl II: No. Lucy: It was the same alarm as last year. Cheryl: Everyone follow me. Cheryl (over alarm's PA System): May i have your attention, May I have your attention. We are currently testing the alarms at the hotel we're staying at right now. Please do not exit the building and disregard all fire alarms if possible. Thank you for your cooperation! Mike: Your mother is telling all guests to stay in the rooms. Jessica (over megaphone): Back in your rooms! I repeat, Back in your rooms! Kyle: The fire alarm has my mother speaking over it. Ariana: What's that? Mike: She said stay in your rooms. Lindsey: I don't get it, Do you know what caused the alarm? If so, and if possible, I would inform the fire department. Mike: Okay. Caiden: *goes outside with everyone else* Jessica: It is like another fire alarm drill just like my school has all the time each month. (After the panel is reset...) Mike (over alarm's PA system): All is clear, you may resume normal activities. Thank you for your cooperation and your patience. Cheryl: The alarm had our voices on it. Kyle: Cool. Mike: Lord, I am sorry that the alarm went off because of a main water leak in the boiler room, let's hope this will not happen again, Amen, in Godspeed. *everyone goes back to sleep* Jessica: Weird night sleeping. Cheryl: Goodnight. THE END!!!!!

I'm surprised the simplex voice evacuation had wheelock speaker strobes instead of the simplex 4903 speaker strobes, I've seen that simplex systems use wheelock fire alarms for their weatherproof na's but why did they used all wheelock fire alarms, was their an older Honeywell system before the simplex system was added in or did this library have the same system since it was built

Yeah that is commonplace with Simplex voice evacuation systems. Slow whoop twice then default message played 3 times then slow whoop until silenced. I've seen 4100u panels that do the same thing as well as ones that do the code-3 tone on here as well.
