I have both coils and I’m going to give the SP24 another go. I was always taught that the bigger the coil the deeper you can detect, and the very old valuable stuff is deep! But… if your detector is to chatty you cant hear the deep stuff anyway.

A great video as always and informative and very helpful as I’m trying to save for a sp24 coil. Great channel and much thanks 👍🏻

Glad to help, you will not regret the SP24- It rocks. I love it, and when I had to have the stock coil back on, it just felt heavy and awkward. Having said that, I loved my machine from the day I got her, and that was with the Sp28. She just keeps getting better and better :)

Your videos are the best! I just got my simplex and wish they gave you an option to get the sp24 coil instead of the stock coil..I can't imagine that the sp24 cost more to make..greetings from Florida!

Thanks for the video, very informative! Do you notice any difference in the weight of your detector with the elliptical coil? I have a Nokta Makro Simplex with the stock coil and my shoulder starts hurting after longer hunts. Keep up the good work!

Great video as usual. But now I feel like I wasted my money on the stock SP28.

No it's a great coil... don't watch the numbers listen and if numbers jump like 15 82/ 23 78 switch programs between field park one and 2 on iffy signals dig

Is that a ferrite choke high up on the controller end of your cable? Do you find that it helps keep EMI dampened? Is that the reason for it? I happen to have a few spare in this gauge laying around.... hmm.

Well spotted, my friend! That was sent to me by Dustin Bright of the Simplex+ Legend owners group on Facebook. We have been trying them out to reduce interference from pin pointers. I would say give it a try, I did notice an improvement in chattery ness with the pin pointer when I have it on the machine, and certainly does not harm the Simplex's ability to see targets. Check out my latest video comparing the Legend to the Nox and SImplex, you will see that she has no trouble at all! Very well spotted, I had forgotten it was even on there!

@@thesimplexguru1263 Interesting idea. I'd always figured those were for the other way around - breaking (choking) signals from exiting the transmission line. But, any transmitter is also a receiver, so... yeah, maybe. I'll pop one on and check it out. For anyone not seeing what we're talking about, check around @9:30 to see a clear shot of it. It's just a special clip-on toroidal bit of plastic-encased ferrite. You will see it as a black bump on the orange cable protector part of the cable, up near her controller.

If you don't mind me asking, why do you have a ferrite choke on SP24's cable?

How do you manage to get permission to detect in a local park, my local parks are all council owned (Moray) and therefore out of bounds to me?
@havoccompany3022 жыл бұрын
Hi, I’m new to detecting but have been lucky. I detect in fields in Wales rather than parks or beaches. What can I expect from upgrading to the SP24 coil?

Guru have you tried the SP 22 I would like to hear your views on this coil for the simplex plus . Ian
@thesimplexguru12638 ай бұрын
Hi Ian, I haven't tried that one. I think it will perform as well as the 24, but do you need it? If you have the money, options are always good to have. But if you have the sp24, it will be a perfect all in one, if budget is tighter. Hope this helps. 👩🏻🦰
