Thank you so much. I'm so glad it helped, that's the only reason I make them. :D I've got a new, practical outdoors one in the planning, and I think that will be useful to Simplex owners too. The Simplex+ is a fantastic machine, but she does need tweaking to work her best. The settings needn't be complicated, but new owners don't get a lot of detailed info in the manual to help with set up. With just a little guidance, everyone can have a great experience (I hope!) Happy hunting :)

Hello and good day too you. I ha e recently bought the simplex and am in love with the way it works,it was an upgrade for me from the garrett ace 300. Much different and superior machine. I have only been detecting for aprox.6 months or so and have quickly become addicted. It's the best hobby I have ever had and enjoy the relic hunt the most. I reside in the USA new hampsire to be exact and have found numerous treasures such as civil war buttons and bullets and much older musket balls as well as many many buckles and personal effects. Ok on to the point of my writing this as I am new to this and still learning my new machines ins and outs I am asking about the 2.77 version everyone is talking about. Mine was preloaded with 2.78 and I have recently bought the new sp24 9.5inch coil and the carbon fiber lower arm for it and I consistently hear that the lower version is way better suited for this coil? Is this a big enough difference that I should change my version and if so in what ways and how do I find this version because I have looked everywhere and cannot locate it as I attempted to try it out to see how I liked it and was unsuccessful. I was told by one gentleman that they have pulled it from online so at this time it is unavailable. I'm hoping someone will possibly ha e a copy of this they could somehow send me so I can try it out but so far have struck out. Well I first and foremost want to say thank you for your great show which is most of the reason for my choosing this machine as my upgrade as well as a very entertaining informative show to watch. I am grateful for yourself and a few others who have steady gotten me more and more excited about detecting and helped me become the enthusiast I am as well as helping me become a rapid learning detector also a responsible detector. I would not want to shame any of us who do this with irresponsible habits. We'll I look forward to hearing back from you if you have the time and energy to help me with my delema.thank you so much and thanks for all you do for our hobbies. Your viewer ed

No regrets on subscribing a few weeks ago...except I wish I'd done so sooner! This video is very helpful. Thank you! I just acquired the Detech 15" coil. I know you've used the Detech 13" coil. Do you have any special advice on which mode would be best for that very big coil? What about ground balancing...should I first auto balance in beach mode and switch over to Park with that coil, as you showed here? Or...should I manual balance and take the number down lower than the auto balance? FYI ~ I'll be using the 15" coil in Lake Erie, OH in waist-deep water. I know it sounds insane swinging a giant coil in a few feet of water, but: 1. Very few trash targets 30 ft offshore AND: 2. I need to cover a large area with the broad sweeps of the big coil. 3. I need the greater depth of the big coil to penetrate deep sand and reach the clay layer holding the good targets. I sincerely appreciate you and how well you speak in simple language in your tutorials. Peace!

I love the pulsedive, although I do not use it to its capacity. I need to invest time in it, but even without studying it, I am finding it works fantastically. I used the Nokta Pointer before I had the Simplex and it also worked great. I changed because of the wireless capability of the pulsedive, and the ability to sync with headphones. I always use headphones, so having to take them on and off, and make sure Simplex was far away before switching pointer on, was just too much of a pain. I could have changed to f3, but I want the machine optimised, and NM says that's f2. All roads led to pulsedive, and I'm very happy with it. Only thing I'd change is that it's a bit large!

That was excellent, very useful, vital infact! Without it its like being told how your computer works and all the programms but nobody telling you how to switch it on - a point many miss with new technologies. Thats why we have "Dummies for ......" books in the shops. I found your vido excellent, got a little lost with the talk of 2.68 machines and 2.76 and 2.77 ? Not sure where I find out which I have as it does not say only gives the Serial number but as mine is Dec 2019 I guess its 2.77. It also has Field and Park screens and not two Park as per your vid. but that must be one of the improvements. Now slowly I will go through your other vids after a bit more practice, as you rightly say you have to spend lots of time with it!

Hi. Love you videos. Learning a great deal as a result. I've got sp24 coil. Just wondering if it is also worth buying the sp22 coil? Advantages/disadvantages of sp22 vs sp24? Seen sp22 for sale for £40. Should I buy? Thanks.
@thesimplexguru12637 ай бұрын
Hi Neill, I did do a video ages ago about this, in depth, but in short, possibly. That's a great price and will always be useful to have multiple options for your machine. You can also use it as an almost sniper type coil. I can't say if they are as good as the sp24, having never had one. But I believe they should be. So, if you've got the £40, yeah, options. If it's a stretch, you don't NEED it. Hope this helps!

Hi Johnny. That 95 seems very high. I would have moved field position slightly and tried again. I had exactly the same as you this afternoon, and knew it wasn't right. I shifted slightly and re ground balanced. The actual gb was in the 50s. I probably was inadvertently trying to gb on a bit of iron. I'll answer second part of your question separately, just to keep them in unique posts. Thanks for your questions!

Ah ha! I should have watched this video first. I took "Buster (Simplex+ v2.78)" out for the first time today, and I was a bit disappointed. I live in Miami, Florida USA; and so of course, I took it to the beach (where else?). I only found several bottle caps, an aluminum can tab, a beer can, a penny and a (still wrapped in it's aluminum wrapper) a condom (yuck!). I feel I should have had more targets pop-up. I searched at Haulover Beach which is approx 8 miles north of Miami Beach (South Beach SoBe). The good thing during the week, the entire beach is almost empty. During winter SoBe is full of tourist and snow birds, and makes it almost impossible to metal detect. I had Buster on Beach mode, and I somewhat struggled with it. I put the ground balance to 0.0, and kept playing with the sensitivity. The tide was high, and surf was too rough and too cold to enter so no metal in the water. Maybe when it gets bit warmer. Nevertheless, thanks to your video, I know better. PS... my arms are killing me! I need to exercise them to get use to swinging this thing around. Cheers! - Louis

You talk about notching out numbers but you don't show how to do that. I just got mine yesterday. Much more complicated than I ever imagined it would be. It just makes a lot of noise and randomly jumps through numbers all over the place. So far I can only find my car keys if I have them on the ground surface where I can plainly see them. LOL! I'm sure I'll improve over time. At least I hope so.

I'm still running the 268 version in your opinion what is the best version to have?
@thesimplexguru12634 жыл бұрын
Avagodigger, I would not be without that mute button, park 1, or the sp24 coil, so something 2.7x is required for me. I choose 2.77 as that’s optimised for sp24 coil. If I only had stock coil, I would probably still choose 2.77, as I could just turn sensitivity down when I needed it, and it would be there when I wanted it. But that’s what’s best for me. Have you thought of changing, if so, what has been your reason for sticking with 2.68? I’m curious. :)
@metaldetectingqueensland12334 жыл бұрын
@@thesimplexguru1263 268 is perfect for Australian conditions I just think that the original 268 was the best version nokta sent out in the first place..it didn need updating in my opinion...all the fuss over pushing a button once compared to three times if you were to.turn the volumn down and another park mode that's basically the same as the original version anyway...the only thing that bothers me though is that the ones who chose to remain true to the original version arnt allowed the privilege of being able to swap coils.. in the end that alone will probably make me go and update the machine but honestly I wish it wasn't so 🤨
@thesimplexguru12634 жыл бұрын
I guess the depth they wanted on the wee coils meant they needed to change the 2.68 software. The depth we get with the sp24 has been amazing, and it is a better coil. I swapped machines with a fellow club member today, and spent 3 hours with the standard coil (and no headphones!). That was an eye opener. Wow. I found it so difficult to separate signals. Tbc....
@thesimplexguru12634 жыл бұрын
Sorry, had to take dog out. What I was trying to say (probably not very well) was that to get the most from the little coils they needed to overpower the stock one (and rely on users to turn it down to work properly. I guess a better solution would have been some way to programme the detector coil to tell the machine to work deeper when the small coils are on, and work normally while the stock one was on. Maybe the tech would be too expensive, and they were keeping it affordable. Anyway, whatever works best for your soil is what is best for you. Thankfully we can choose, but it is difficult that you are limited to the stock coil to get the best performance in your soil. :(

They work wonderfully and are amazing value for money. It depends on whether you will have the time to invest in learning the language or you would prefer something easier but less featured. I totally think the Simplex is worth the time, it repays so much for your investment. But, there are easier machines out there. They aren't waterproof though, and are nowhere near as adjustable for specific conditions and preferences. Also, they are quite a bit more money. No question which to choose for me, but I'm thrawn and determined, and don't have loads of money to spend. The videos I have done should cover any situation you find yourself in with the Simplex, if you choose to buy one. I love mine and always choose it first when I go detecting. :)
