I just cut the back of my jacket on the fold as well because it seemed logical! However, that means that the neck is going to be to big because I did not compensate for the seam.

I’ve made the Simplicity 8172 but it never occurred to me to do a rolled hem on all those edges 🤔 I guess I’ll have to make another one so I can try that method 👍 look forward to your yoga pants pattern that’s next on your agenda. I’ll be in uniform….just like you!!! Oh and by the way, Stephanie, I know that New Look 6449 has been a favorite of yours, I’ve made so many of each of the views that I had to purchase a new pattern. Found one on Amazon! If you shorten that dress pattern w/collar, it makes an ideal flannel or viscose cotton shirt for Fall/Winter! I used snaps (poppers, like Carole says) 😆 I find it easier than buttons and button holes!

The weather over here is still quite mild so haven’t made another yet but I definitely will soon. That’s such a cute jacket you have made and I have always admired that pattern but never made it. Congratulations! I just purchased my pattern and already have the fabric chosen. I don’t see any finished garment measurements. I am usually a 12 in patterns and an 8 in ready to wear, but seem to span several sizes in your pattern. My hip is 40 but large seems like it would be huge. Any suggestions?

I would go with the hip measurement myself, because I have a place for you to fit the dress before you make it. Right after you do your shoulder seams, you baste the sides and do a try on. If it’s too big, you can take it in. Just a thought. 🤷🏼‍♀️
