This was great. Every suggestion you made I had already made the decision to do. Thank you.

Good review! I am going to try View B in a vintage barkcloth. I really like your idea of sizing up and skipping the zip! 😆

You made a very cute version. I just finished mine today. I wouldn’t consider this pattern suitable for a beginner. Personally, I think a beginner would get very overwhelmed if they attempted this. The many ruffles and ruffle placement, the in seam pockets, the invisible zipper is a lot for a novice. I made mine in a cotton lawn and ended up putting elastic in the bottom of the bodice so it would be more fitted at the top. It was looking sort of maternity or tent like without it and, for me, the elastic made it a more flattering fit. Thanks for the review and I’ll check out your gathering tutorial.

I hate attaching zippers! I did not add a zipper to mine..but you are right I did not think about that and i also have a serger...that is how I ruffle my fabric but a lot of people don't have sergers. I would love to see your dress, if you have an instagram then you can tag me @simplydelilah1. Thank you for watching 😊

I'm making this dress at the moment and was looking for tips as I've been struggling with it a bit. I haven't made any clothes since I was a teenager and I'm 56 now! I'm so glad I came across your video because I now feel I can cut corners without impunity 😁 I am making version A but like you, decided to opt out of the collar and zip as I felt neither of these added to the look of the dress. Where I did struggle a lot though was binding around the armholes, boy did I get frustrated! I just couldn't get the binding to lie flat. I did it in the end but I'm not totally happy with the results. I wish I had looked for your video before because I think the ruffles look great and would have saved a lot of frustration. I just have to attach my two skirt parts now and then I'm finished. I'm a bit nervous about all the gathering but I'm determined to finish it today 🤞 You have given me inspiration to make this dress again, but next time I will try your version. Thanks so much for a great video! You have a new subscriber!

thank you for reaching out! I do love this pattern and will be making another longer version this weekend i'm hoping...and yes maybe adding the ruffles does make it easier? But I do love this pattern. Thanks for watching and subscribing 😊

I like the way you did the gathers. Love the fabric you chose! Where did you find it? Do you think it needs the keyhole in the back?
@SimplyDelilah3 жыл бұрын
the fabric is a cotton poplin that i purchased from fabric.com. So i think the keyhole in the back would be great! i just sewed the 2 sides together, it originally calls for a zipper.

Hello. Did you use cotton fabric for your dress?

I love your version of this dress, i have been on the fence on this pattern but you may have convinced me to get it. You could consider doing a rolled hem on your serger if you want to keep those exposed edges. Frugalisima has a nice tutorial on her channel.

Why does the pattern have an R and a number different than 9265?
@SimplyDelilah2 жыл бұрын
apparently that R# is for when they organize it in the store
